Does it make you feel uncomfortable?
No, is that what it’s supposed to do?
Just for your information, skip, I’ve done one hell of a lot more reading and thinking on this and other topics relating to race issues than you have; that’s an immutable fact. You, on the other hand, seem to have bought into what CRT purports to be, and apparently have not “done the work” to understand what it’s purpose is.
you should know CRT is only one aspect of Critial theory, which seeks to problematize everything in order to gain power.
my problem with CRT is that the premise is false and that the solution is false. When you have someone like Ibrahim X Kende state that present discrimination as a reaction to previous discrimination is not actually discrimination, and you buy into that drivel, you are buying into a set of lies that ends nowhere good.
Ask yourself this question : if CRT is necessary to teach the “whole” truth, and the left has largely run the schools for decades now, who has failed? They have created a vacuum in which to allow their vile hatred to flow. This is not a mistake. Do you know the Frankfurt school? Probably not. Might want to Google that in between IPAs.
you sound like you have read White Fragility. I have too. What you have in Robin deangelo is a grifter of the highest merit. Someone you pay 15k to come to
Your company to tell you how racist you are, all the while hiding behind her own book a evidence of her inculcation innthr larger grift. BLM anyone? By the way, deangelo lives in a very white rural suburb of Seattle. She only comes to town to sell the grift. Is the picture coming clearer?
I have seen personally how CRT poisons relationships, mine with an old neighbor included. When a guy you have lived next to for 14 years, whose half black/half Japanese daughter literally grows up best friends with your own daughter, who you played poker with and generally were good friends suddenly glances at you with the eyes of suspicion and asks what steps I will be taking to be more anti-racist (more bullshit from Kende), that is where I get off the train. We got along just fine, we’re allies for a decade and a half - until CRT got ahold of him. Then all the sudden i had work to do.
so, you can sit back and parrot all the CRT bullshit you learned in class, but know one day it will come for you, too.
