Sitka has donated several thousands of dollars towards conservation work that I've seen with my own eyes, with zero profit. Anyways, just my comment on the matter of Sitka supporting conservation work in a big way.

I never said they don’t but they make more off conservation orgs then they give. Nothing wrong with it but the reality is most of these companies that give do it in a profitable way annually which again, I don’t have a problem with because it helps both the orgs and companies.

It my occur to you at some point that if a company doenst have profits it has nothing to give. There is plenty of giveing, (donations)that are totally separate from partnership agreements.
Futhermore giving to a cause is just that giving. No matter what amount that is given be greatful and humbled that someone is willing to donate the time from their life that it took to earn that money.

I’ve read a ton of this and have seen plenty of good points. Like I said earlier he is an independent consultant for Sitka. In the video he never once said anything about Sitka or represented them in any way. Why does Sitka have to give a statement? This has all been blown out of proportion in regards to Sitka. If in any way you think the company put him up to this you are wrong. The guy is an idiot for making the video but it had nothing at all to do with Sitka. I read somewhere today that if you worked at McDonald’s and made a video saying you were a vegetarian would McDonald’s have to make a statement condemning you. I’m a NRA life member, but if any of you think we win this fight by continuing the way we do, you are wrong. We as gun owners are in the minority in this country. What that moron proposed is BS, but we need to start coming to the table with some solutions to what has become 1 to many senseless shootings.

Where once did I say I wasn’t greatful? I just stated a fact.

So why not just start with mental health? Guns and the ability to obtain one in my view isn’t the problem at all, yet that’s what we all keep hearing over and over. If we keep bending over we’ll have nothing before you know it, same goes for hunting. Bet we see bear baiting in ID and WY go away within the next 3-5 years.

You might need to google the difference between an opinion and a fact.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but they are not entitled to their own facts.

Ok, so my first hand experience is just opinion? What conservation org have you chaired? Do that and maybe you might know a few facts vs opinions or what you read on the web. I get it, you know all and are 100% correct, that’s cool.

I agree. Then we need to take the lead on this and demand some action. Something has changed in society in the last 25-30 years. What was it or has it been a number of things. When I was in high school we had guns in our vehicles and knives in our pockets at school. Dad had unlocks gun cases at home, yet none of this shit happened. Lets dig deeper for the causes, and lead!

Personally I think the start of it was everyone gets a trophy and no one should feel offended. The so called progressive movement.

You’ll never stop evil though.

I remember having guns in my pickup in high school and showing them to teachers, we grew up in a different time. Bad things have always happened and we never heard about it, the internet and national media just broadcasts the news to a wider net then it used to.

That’s is definitely one of the causes for sure. The only way things change is if people stand up and push for it. We can’t keep eating each other and think that’s going to change anything.

I used to live and work in NYC

The residents there in NY are typically very anti gun. They have some of the worst anti gun
Laws in the US. Might better understand the mindset of the poster

Something I’ve notice is the majority in CA, IL and NY seems to all have very similar beliefs even if they believe they are conservative. Has to be hard living around such far left thinking that to even be left leaning feels conservative, but that is just an opinion.

I agree with you. I must not be getting across to you. It seems like you are arguing with me, when we both are in agreement. Maybe it's me.

I was wandering how much clearer you must be in order to get your point across. That fella wanted to argue and just couldn't see you weren't disagreeing with him.

What he said was something about background checks and shootings. Nothing about hunting. At all. Sitka is in the hunting gear business, not the gun business. You are really quick to mix these two things up. Saying you support more background checks does not make you anti-hunting. Nor does appearing in a video with someone who is anti-hunting. But you know who it does make you like? Donald Trump. White House: Trump supports move to strengthen gun background checks

If you knew your law, you'd know that the same background checks already exist for every gun purchase from a ffl holder. Universal background checks is the new coined term for increased gun control. Wait times, surveillance, licenses, yearly taxes to own, increased taxes on ammo, etc..... Thee is more then one way to skin a cat and you seem lost that the rights hundreds of thousands have died to protect, is a guarantee, Freedom isn't free and it won;t preserver if we don't keep sacrificing for it.

This is a fine example of how hunting for our kids kids is doomed. Us as hunters can’t even stand together on severe issues. Yes this is a severe issue. I will not burn any Sitka gear I own hats dumb but I will not spend another dollar with them until they come clean on support for those that supported them. There are plenty of great gear providers that offer equally as good of gear that support hunters and gun owners.

Isn't Sitka owned by W.L. Gore (Gore Tex)?

I ask, because Gore may decide how Sitka can respond to an inquiry on an issue on the 2nd Amendment.

To all those who seem so willing to give another inch to the gun control crowd here is a question. Do we all agree that photo id should be mandatory for voting? And while we are at that, can we all agree that since we can't mail order guns, why should we be able to mail in ballots? Big time risk involved when ballots are in the mail stream.

Yet any time you mention these things to the socialists, they get rather irate about their right to vote being suppressed. So what about my right to keep and bear arms? I don't feel like letting it be suppressed further.

I run a business and have a number of contractors who work for me. If they posted they worked for me and were spewing things that my clients would find objectionable, I would fire or simply stop paying them and find someone else who was aligned with my business better. Spew whatever kind of garbage you want, but you are no longer associated with my business.

Good point.

The fact remains - an instafamous dude with 100k followers who lists his position with Sitka in his bio second only to his marriage making a political call to action video about gun control with a prominent anti-hunter is bad press for Sitka and it does say something about Post.

If he feels that way about background checks you know what would have made people think about his stance more? Doing it with another hunter rather than some dude with HSUS ties.

EDIT: I agree that the pitchfork mob is overkill, but people are not wrong to look at this with question and Sitka would be wise to address it.

Anyone selling their left wing commy anti hunting/gun Sitka size large upper body and 32-33 lowers please let me know. I will take that junk off your hands.

Wow that was clever huntharder
