What is everyone's opinions on the best daypack that can be carried on an airplane? TSA carry on limits are 22 x 14 x 9. We are hunting in Canada this fall, want to carry on some essentials in case luggage gets delayed, but don't want to have issues with too big of a carry on. Then will carry this bag every day in the field during the trip.

Ideally I would bring my Mystery Ranch pack, but it is well outside the limits. Would like a pack that has an internal frame and could carry a hind quarter if needed.

Is the Kuiu Venture Divide 3000 too big for a carry on? Just read the KUIU Venture Divide 2000 doesn't fit 6 foot or taller people very well?

Ideally this would replace the Mystery Ranch for day trips in the future, but in my mind a day pack needs to be able to haul some weight when needed.

Thanks in advance for the advice.

I used a Kuiu Divide 1800 this year on vacation and had no issues. Its a bit long under the seat but worked good. If you go much bigger it wont fit under a seat. Can always put it overhead if its bigger, I see lots of people using larger packs and doing that.

I used my divide before and it was great. I recently acquired a Stone Glacier 3000 travel bag. It’s now going to be my go to for carry on. Remember, most places let you have a carry on and a “personal” bag. I used my divide 1800 as a personal bag along with my carry on and didn’t need a checked bag!

I take my EXO 4800 as my carry on for both hunting and leisure trips. I make sure it isn’t over packed, take the lid off, and tuck the hip belt behind my back when I walk up to the person scanning tickets. I’ve never had a problem and it exceeds the limits of a carry on.

I just got the Kuiu Divide 2000 for a day pack and as a carry on. I'm 6ft flat and 220lbs. I am at the extremes of what the pack will fit honestly. I had to adjust the shoulder straps all the way up to get it to fit. After adjusting the load lifters and straps some more I have it quite comfortable, but can see how with a longer torso you'll be pushing it. Hip belt rides perfect for me, if I was any taller it wouldnt be in the right spot and nothing you could do. I hear tue 3000 fits bigger guys better, I just didnt want the size since if I need a pack that big I'll just use my K4 3600.

My only real complaint with the 2000 is the lack of molle on it. Would be nice if it had molle on the hip belt to attach some stuff. I looked to see if a K4 belt would fit and it wont, its a little too tall and the velcro is on the wrong side.

I have several day packs. But my "go to" and most used is the KUIU Divide 1200. Have had for a couple of hunting seasons and it's the backpack that travels on planes with me. Took it to Eastern Europe this summer, boarding a few planes and hiking a lot. Great pack size.

I have carried on my Badlands 2800 as my main carry on plus my folded up soft side cooler as my second allowable many times with no problem. Just don't make your main carry on a fully stuffed 5K or more.
