So while we’re not eating meat for the should we also spend that day killing a few thousand acres of wooded area to plant some edamame for ourselves on those animals fertile soil?

That should make vegetarian feel warm and fuzzy.

What these vegans don’t get is the large scale devastation to the “sentient” beings when harvest rolls around. A wheat field post harvest has more carnage than any slaughter house

So true but the amount of land we’d need to ran animals off of and level to make the world vegan is a joke. Not to mention the amount of vegetation you need to live on vs meat. It’s a evil pipe dream

If you can't post without being derogatory then just don't post. It's really that simple

For some reason I'm not able to upload the graph of our obesity rates since the 1980's but I think it's pretty much common knowledge that as a nation we're getting fatter at an alarming rate. I realize this shows correlation and not necessarily causation, but it's pretty obvious to me that it ain't the red meat that's wrecking our health. Beef consumption going down, obesity and all kinds of chronic health issues on the rise

It's not red meat consumption that brings on weight gain, it's processed sugars and complex carbohydrates that are obtained by eating fast food and quick easy prepped food.

Long working hours and stress because of a misconception of what capitalism really is is what causes the increase in fast food consumption...

Getting mad at a "vegetarian" day is the same as getting mad about a "meat" day to celebrate ranchers. There's no problem with designating a day to acknowledge a group of people. It doesn't affect you at all if you choose to eat some vegetables that day or smoke a brisket. Just move on with your life and make your own decisions without being worried about the decisions of others.

False. There is a push by leftist elitists, like Bill Gates for the US to consume only synthetic beef. This is a continuation of that push. And if you say nothing, or worse, condone it, next will come regulations designed to put ranchers out of business. Maybe they can just learn to make solar panels too?

You do know that if the entire world ate as much meat as the US, there's not enough land in the world to sustain the animal population. That means that having a diet that contains less meat is essential for the world. It doesn't mean that you personally have to eat less meat. So feel free to eat as you like and not worry about what everybody else is eating. This doesn't force people to change anything, so I'm not sure why anybody is upset about it. Maybe you can explain to me how this affected your life at all and I'll change my mind.

Actually if you read the article you can easily see it is an attack on meat and the beef industry. And apparently this isn't his first time, either.

I've read that there's not enough farm land in the world to support a vegetarian diet. There's also not enough ranch land in the world to support an American diet (the amount of meat that Americans eat). So, I don't have a problem with some people pushing a vegetarian diet and some people pushing a carnivore diet. We need variety to survive. Now, if they push legislation that prevents somebody from making their own choices, then i'll have a problem. Don't give the if you "let them take an inch and they'll take a mile" theory with this though.

He's not worried about it though, he's just bringing awareness to something. I would suggest not getting upset or worried about what everyone else is concerned with. Now, if the governor makes laws/policy then I'll feel differently.

20th of March is definitely going to be a meat day for me because that is what I will be eating all through ( making sure I get some on time before its sold out). Steak and nicely baked potatoes sounds perfect.

Something to look in to is buying from a rancher. My last load was right at 6.00/lb for some premium beef. That includes t-bones, ribeyes, roasts, tri-tip, ground, etc. And you can specify the cuts you like. It is the best beef I have ever eaten.
Thats crazy we pay 3.25/lb even for all the "good cuts" I don't eat alot of beef mostly burger never been a fan of beef steaks
