Mountain Goat Taxidermy

IMO, you are selling yourself way short by not going after a goat when in their prime coat. If you just want a goat and don't care about the coat or the horns, there is nothing wrong with that. Taking a goat in and of itself is generally a brutal yet memorable hunt, and something to absolutely be proud of. My main goal was a mature billy with the longest coat possible. It delivered for sure. Yes, the weather is significantly worse but it's totally worth it. There is absolutely nothing about that goat that doesn't meet every expectation I had hoped for. I appreciate the kind words.

Have you gotten yours back yet?
I have and hope to have it on the wall this weekend. It’s been a bit of an ordeal as it didn’t come home with a way to hang it. Should have that complete by Thursday and on the wall this weekend as I need to rent scaffolding. Here’s the only descent pic I have at this point.

Whoever skinned the cape off the head needs to learn how to do it better. You see 3 marks from this pic and there is 1 more on the other side of the nose and this goat was scar free when I shot him. Guess the holes were too big to be fixable. Gives him some character.
