My vote is for a Sako 85 Finnlite. I absolutely love mine. It shoots 1 moa with factory ammo no problem, but with my hand loads it does .5. It's super light, smooth as silk action and is accurate as they come.

Thanks for all the suggestions! I will look into coating the action and barrel and looking into some of the rifles suggested. On a related note, I own a Tikka T3 Lite in .243, and I really, really, really want to love it. It is light, smooth, etc. For some reason, I can't group that rifle to save my life. I've disassembled it and reassembled it using factory torque settings, removed the scope and remounted with new talley rings, and tried different brands of ammo. For some reason, I'm still shooting a 1.75" group at 100 yds. It seems to throw 1 bullet in every 3. I'm not an expert marksman, but my ADL holds sub MOA with the same setup and 3x the recoil, so I am not convinced it is me. So, yes Tikka is a great suggestion, but I'm worried I got a lemon in my .243 and that makes me a bit hesitant to buy a another one.

They are guaranteed. If yours won't shoot, send it in for a replacement. I have shot a ton of them and have never seen one that wouldn't shoot sub moa.

My old man has a t3 25-06 and that is the shooting-est out of the box rifle I have ever shot. Really, it blew my mind.

Hands down----tikka t3 or t3 lite. My brother and I have the t3 lite 30-06 Ackley improved and they are unbelievably accurate. Yesterday I went out to shoot my buddy's t3 in 6.5 swede as I am developing a load for it---pictures are worth a thousand words. This is from an out of the box wood stocked t3. 43 grains and 45 grains of RL17 and a 140 berger. I think it has some potential..........

Cerakote the barrel and action then replace the stock, if you'd like. There's no way I'd sale an accurate rifle for an unknown one. JMO

I would go Tikka all day long. The sako a7 is just a Tikka. We have one and it's no better than a Tikka for the price difference.

I have 2 xbolt and I tikka. Both shoot great. If your going to upgrade stocks, get the tikka. If you want the better overall fit and finish get the hells canyon speed or western hunter from browning.

I picked up a Kimber Montana for back country hunting this year. I was a little hesitant after reading some mixed reviews from previous years.

I tried 5 different factory ammo brands. It ended up loving Nosler. I shoot just under or right at 1 MOA.

I'm not very patient when it comes to letting the barrel cool after each shot which I'm sure would help.

With gun, rings (talley), scope (vortex 4-16x50 HSLR) and sling I'm right at 7 pounds.

it was a great shooter before it's face lift. Bell and carlson 2950 stock Action trimmed barrel and bolt fluted. Trigger guard and bolt handle skeletonized. Trigger tech trigger. If you do it right right your at the same cost as a tinka.

it is easier to to just buy new but what fun is that

I was shooting 210 Bergers. They were not lip length. Using H1000. I do shoot 200 grain berger out of the clip. With H4831.

30/06 might be a 280ai in its next life. Just going to enjoy it for now 06 has never left me wanting yet except stretching out distance
