Hey man, if you need Sitka to reenforce what they stand for in a big statement, you might have a problem that no statement could fix. You can be pissed all you want. You can choose to buy from someone else based on this happening. What you can’t do is say that Sitka could do more then they have. No one knows that. They’ve released a generic statement to anyone who’s asked how they feel about our 2nd amendment. And, if there council shares any of the same concerns I’ve heard in the past on similar circumstances, you’ve gotten all they can give. I’m sure if you agree to cover a multi million dollar lawsuit lose though, they’d come out guns blazing.

I'm still holding judgement on this, like I stated. And I'm not pissed about anything. I'm just taking part in a discussion and giving my opinion. Just like you are giving yours. We disagree and that's ok.
And I can say Sitka should have done more. And they should have, if they were smart. To assume everyone in the world follows all the work sitka does on conservation issues and the like is poor judgement. If they would have just made small public statement, this issue would have died a long time ago.

Here is what I did say if you want the facts, as I don't work on bullshit opinions.

"Yes, wait for the official statement, which is being worked on. As I’m sure most people can understand, off the cuff and unthought out remarks get taken the wrong way and can be costly. Charles Post, case in point."

If you would read a few posts after that you would also see where I said I have more important things (like a life) to worry about, then to try and keep up with these pages of BS. You know those things called the Christmas holiday's. That's where you get together with your friends and family, and enjoy them. However as angry as you few seem to be, I can see where you may not enjoy time with family or friends......or maybe lack friends to be with because of said personality? Ohh and there's hunting season, yeah I'll elect that as well over sitting here with a few that can't see anything positive in life.

I know what happened. I know what steps were taken. I know where Sitka stands. EXACTLY where I told you they did from day one of this conspiracy theory thread, lol. I've moved past it. No more thoughts, no concerns (which I never had in the first place), no worries.

Could I tell you, I sure could. Sitka did send a message. Some of you here said you got it. Read it, trust it, look at past history of the company. Watch forward growth and communication from the company. It is what it is. Shit happens. You can move on, or you can dwell in the past on something that you think is something, which is nothing. Sitka said we could talk about it. I've chosen my route. It's to move on.

I will tell you this. Even if I hadn't found out what happened. Even if I had been told I couldn't talk about it. I would still have chosen Sitka. Why? Because I know. I know what they have done. I know who they are. I know what they are. I know where they are going.

I know what I am. I know who I am. I know what I stand for. I know what I want. Sitka has the same alignment. Personally I don't care if any keyboard warriors here like me or not. In reality I don't give a F if anyone but my immediate family likes me or not. Again, see above. I know who I am. If that isn't good enough, move on. I really am ok with that.

Now, anyone who wants to chat hunting, the best clothing in the industry, draw strategy, exercise, nutrition, triathlon, or anything to do with the outdoors, look me up at the upcoming shows. I leave in 4 hours for Reno. From there I'll be in Dallas, Harrisburg, Des Moines, Madison, Ohio, Omaha, New Orleans, Bozeman, a few I'm forgetting and some of the TAC'S.

Keep this clean or it's getting locked.

I believe you are a good guy and a fine outdoorsman.
And I'm sure you are a little short for getting called out for something you didn't exactly do, and having to spend time directing traffic on this mess and I respect your position on this. But attacking personal lives because of a difference in opinion was really uncalled for.
We all have different walks of life. Some get online at work, some at home after kids or wifes are asleep. And others like me only sleep 5 hours a night. I get on here cause I enjoy hunting discussions and getting insight from guys like you who have more experience than me and get to do it way more often. And I like getting different points of view on subjects. If you want to label me as a loser or unpleasant to be around because we might happen to disagree on something then fine.
Are there off-topic, dumb or trivial discussions sometimes? Sure. But that is just part of it. (Sometimes we care about dumb $hit. lol)
This is the premier backcounty hunters forum. And I don't have to tell you, guys here are passionate. They are going to have passionate opinions on the outdoors.
I could get into this further, but maybe its time for everyone to form their own conclusions and just move on.

Actually read again. I didn’t attack anyone. I said “ I could see where some things were possible”. It wasn’t fact or singularly attentive to one person. I said it was a possibility towards some people here. If that shoe fits anyone, then they can wear it.

After you cuss and rant? Which I haven’t seen anyone do. I’m guessing you are employed by Sitka?
I’m far more concerned as how Sitka handled the situation including yourself over and above what Post said.

I’m only one of a million hunters out there who have free choice. But I am a guide and deal with all kinds of clients including public and military and I will from now on tell this story when asked my OPINION on gear

I've been watching these threads with interest, but not engaged in the discussion. I've mostly been thinking about how the Sitka response is in line with what I expect from hunting gear manufacturers. I'm not a big Sitka user, but I have a purchase I'm considering that comes in to about 1K, so that probably adds to my interest in the response from them.

As I get older and choosier (maybe wiser), I want no ambiguity in the message from hunting manufacturers that I do business with. It is pretty easy for me to say that Sitka's response doesn't do that for me. (As an aside, I have no expectation that companies that don't specialize in hunting gear toe the same line - maybe that is a double standard, but I'm comfortable with it.) If a company is making their money off hunters I expect a stronger response distancing them from anti-hunting individuals and anti-gun individuals than there was.

Nope not at all. It’s when people start throwing around their “expectations “ when they really have no idea how companies like this do business. How they NEED to do business. The difference here is most of the people whining about what they need, are really whining for a want. There is a huge difference. Nobody has to believe me. I don’t care.

A lot could be said. It would all be just words. Look at past actions. Look at future actions. Truly do that and and come back in a year and give your “opinion” again.

I don’t think anyone questions Sitkas past, but when the associate the company with individuals like Post it makes consumers wonder. Kind of like the stock market the future value is not just based on the past. Maybe you are right but maybe not but you are correct in time we’ll know more on Sitkas direction or continued direction.

But you have stated to wait for a statement from Sitka quote from your other post.. I think all most have wanted was for them to speak up not go silent and push it under the rug

I have had the privilege of working with Sitka since 2011. I can honestly tell you, that you will not find a better group of people as a whole, in the industry. A company that promotes conservation, hunting, and the outdoors to the max. Good, honest, down to earth, hard-working, fun people.

All I suggest, in this situation, like any other.......wait for the details (statement in this case), as you sharpen your machetes. You may say you "don't buy" it, or it's a "canned response". Trust me there's nothing canned or taken lightly about these types of situations.

I, like you, have no idea what the response will be.....I do know it will be proper, supportive, and honest. I know with 110% certainty it will be in good taste, with integrity, and ya'll don't have to worry about Sitka supporting your rights
