If you could move and live anywhere in the lower 48 where would you go?

I've lived in Alaska for most of my life, and the Winters are getting a bit harder on me. But my wife who has been here all her life won't go anywhere else so I'm not going anywhere. I would go back to north Central Idaho if I did move. I have family in the Lewiston Clarkston area where I was born.

My family has been in VA since colonial times and I have no intention of leaving. I prefer VA to any state in the east but love the Rockies. A second home in western CO, or maybe WY would be my dream location.

West Slope of CO when it becomes its own state someday..fingers crossed.
Based off that answer, Northeast California when it becomes its own state and gives back bear hunting with hounds, lion hunting and wolf hunting become legal, and they quit sending water to SoCal.

Until then back up to the Sandhills or at least Western Nebraska. The wife doesn't want to live more than an hour from her folks though. I'd move back to Elko county Nevada in a heartbeat too

My grandparents live in banner county, I make the yearly drive from South Carolina out to chase Mullies and whitetails. Well used to in the old days before it went to a draw. I love it out there but man the winters are freaking brutal.

What I tell all my friends from California is the winters keep the riff raff out. Dad moved out here and was only able to last one winter before he moved to Missouri. Banner is cool country.

Cherry county here. Has everything I want except an elk season I can hunt every year. I’d like to move to WY for that reason but probably never will. Winters are pretty similar from what I can see.

i’d like to move somewhere cold, with a lot of snow, and in driving distance to the mountains. Don’t know where yetz

Do what we did. Move to wherever you would vacation. That way every day is a vacation. Plus it will save you a fortune. One house and no flying. No need for a second home or pay for an AirBNB.

I found it 25 years ago here in Colorado. Things may have changed, but it is still perfect for me! I have had a great run here and in surrounding states. Next move if it ever happens will be to BC.

Yeah I don't know if it is just this winter with the lack of snow, but it has got me looking at places down south...but like you the wife won't move...
