Cold Bore Challenge Q&A Thread

This morning wind 6 mph had turned 90 degrees from last trip so held 1o’clock in the bull and sneaked it in.



This is my 2nd cold bore at 450 with no shots between days. Like many have said, it’s gonna be wind that will make or break this challenge


Here’s last sessions target from post 346. Hit almost same place but held roughly 10 o’clock because of wind noted above. Either way might need to give it some daylight on next shot. This is with hash marks on a Swaro Z5

Brand new build trying to get my dope down and make sure my zero is nailed. Really running out of time but I’m hoping to give it a go.

My plan this year for the long area(bean field) I have was to actually shoot my heavy field comp rifle since I live in the east where I don’t have to pack it far. But, In the spirit of why not I’m gonna use the shorty 16” creedmoor instead and go for that 600 gong.

Wind yesterday was a little spicey for out east but managed a first rounder on 10” at 600 line, though I did a 10 shot zero confirm before heading to the long line so it’s not cold bore.

As a matter of fact it did. Seems to work just fine, glass didn't take any damage and the paint wasn't perfect beforehand.

Currently waiting out ANOTHER prairie thunderstorm. Hope it passes quick.

I dont hunt with a bipod so I am going to try 400 yards sitting off my shooting sticks for this challenge.

That's cool. What equipment?

I'm using a Samsung Galaxy 10, Phoneskope, and Vortex Razor. If I get in on the contest I will use my Kowa I think.

Yesterday was my first day filming shots and it didn't go as well as I had hoped.

We are currently at our annual week long rockchuck safari getting some shooting in. A group of us have been doing this for years......its our 23rd year. A couple of local ranchers and farmers let us shoot and we can shoot out to and over 2000 yards.
Wind is killing us right now but good practice and it's always a great time.

I have been way too busy lately and haven't got the chance to shoot much. I did get out today and hung 3 targets. I will hopefully get a little practice in this week.

My boy has a baseball tournament out of town this weekend. I am going to take our rifles and a target. Friday night we'll go find a place to shoot and Saturday morning we'll go shoot before his game.
