Plan was for me and the youngest to head out around 1100 for the weekend, but my oldest dumped a little 6pt so we worked our way into him and carried out the hinds. Now, we’ll head out soon. If we can’t produce any bulls in the next few days, we’ll come back and hire the oldest as our guideIMG_5981.jpeg

Youngest and I got just under 10mi and 2800vert yesterday. Set him up on the same bull twice yesterday, but it was far enough that everything had to be perfect. Bull wouldn’t cooperate and stop in the shooting lanes. Watched him until dark last night, got in here today by daylight and we finally found him around 1000 today. We’re waiting him out until this evening. He will do 1 of 3 things, if he does 2 of them… his ass is ours. Yesterday was 9 degrees at camp and I bet it was 70 in the sun and snow later in the day.

@sjwfarms my best friend has Krohns and he has more colonoscopy stories than any man should have. He told me that he’s had so many cameras shoved up his ass, that he named his ass as Hollywood.

@InkedElkSlayer crohns is no joke man. My profession is in the gastro sub specialty and working with treatments that change the course of the disease. I wouldn’t wish CD or UC on anyone.

Took last week off to hunt but ended up doing more honey do’s than sitting in a tree. Still have temps from 65-75 in Ga slowed rut down tremendously. With does not coming into heat the mature bucks had no reason to seek on my farm. Saw plenty of 3 yo bucks running around which was fun.
Still hit the gym most of the week.
Headed to Chicago for next 3 days and of course temps will be dropping.

Trying to get life back to normal after almost 1.5 months off of regular workouts. By the time the lights came back on after Helene, I was down to crunch time before my WY general rifle tag opened. So.. I am just now getting back on my routine. This year was my first year being remotely prepared physically for a hunt. It definitely made a huge difference in how much I enjoyed it and my ability to move around and get into better spots. Did not equate to a dead bull, but i am that much closer.
