I’m guessing that you didn’t read the post above about why I don’t like Trump. That’s why I said your post is funny.

It’s almost cliche for the most ardent Trump supporters to reflex to assumptions about those who find him a poor choice for the Presidency. I’ll make the same assumptions about you as you do about me. Let me guess, your primary news source, is it the one fined over 700 Million for knowingly lying to their consumers and promoting known false information about a voting machine conspiracy. Or is it one of the other fringe sources that folded on their “Kraken” stories. Personally I try to get information from
A pretty broad range of sources. Though I do admit that I’m as susceptible to confirmation bias as you are.

I’d bet that I consume news from across a broader spectrum of sources than you do. Since this is an inane interweb disagreement I guess we’ll never know. Or do you fall into the oh-so-typical, if it isn’t a Trump approved source it’s fake news. Deep state. Leftist. Socialist. I’m not any of those and don’t understand the “my guy or you’re a moron” dismissive argument mentality reflexed to by many of the most devout supporters of Trump.

I’m not a Harris supporter, I voted for the candidate with the best chance of keeping Trump out of the Presidency. A few of my core reasons were listed above. Just like Admirals, a former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, a pretty long list of retired military officers and many people from his former administration, I don’t like many of his policies, how he denigrates people, and the amoral character he brings to the Presidency of the United States. I’m not espousing Harris as an icon, just preferable to Trump. Apparently you do like him, evidently a lot. That’s the great thing about America, we get to publicly disagree. What’s also great about America is that we will endure and survive this current test.

Your guy won, democracy in action. I served a career in the military to defend that institution and will retire my “Veterans Against Trump” hat the day before he takes office as is my responsibility as a patriotic American. I also won’t show a F—- DJT sticker or flag, it is disrespectful to the office of the Presidency.

The next 4 years will further define his character. I honestly and sincerely hope that you’re right and I’m wrong.

With all due respect - and talking about myself only as guy who voted (R) - you are wrong on a level that would probably surprise you. I VERY seriously doubt you get/read info from a wider variety than I do. Your comment pigeonholes (R) voters to the extent that it acts as evidence against your claim.

6 year submariner here. Thank you for your service. I think for some people you are right when you say he "appeals to the worst of our human nature." But I know for a fact that for many of us, many of his policies appeal to "the better angels of our nature."

My vote is entirely based on his actual performance during his first term, the crop of incredible kids he's raised, and now the people he's surrounded himself with and his campaign platform.

I agree with you, it is the fault of the Democratic party that Trump was elected and I’ve never been a Democrat. Trump has more time as a Democrat than I do. Hopefully we can get beyond Trump and fringe ideology from both parties and start fielding better candidates.

Did you ever serve with any military leaders? If you did, thank you for your service, and I’m sorry that your experiences with them left you with such a poor opinion of military leadership. By and large the men I served with (no women on submarines when I was in) were fine, patriotic Americans who sacrificed to keep our country strong.
