New Athlon Chronograph

So where does this sit. Did the Althon price increase put it parallel to the Garmin? If so which is a better buy

With S&S RS discount I had to jump on the Athlon
Bought let’s see how fast shipping is and I’ll test it in the weekend after received

I used mine for the first time about a week ago and liked it. I'm new to reloading and chronographs. It was very easy to use. I didn't even read the instructions. The guy next to me let me put his Garmin next to mine for 10 rounds. 5 factory Berger 140 gr hybrid targets and 5 factory Hornady ELD-M 140 gr. The Garmin had slower readings for fps but the Athlon was more consistent with what is published. The Athlon's data came up way faster. I had zero charging issues. The display was easier for me to read than the Garmin. The guy next to me then used my Athlon along side his Garmin for a few sets of his hand loads. He said he felt the Athlon was more consistent with what fps he should be seeing from his load/rifle combo. He told me when I left he will be ordering an Athlon and listing his Garmin for sale.

In either matter, I think they both will give you consistent readings which is most important for development. If you are expecting to see accurate speeds with your loads, maybe the Athlon but a side by side analysis with all the chronographs and doppler would be the best study I guess. If you're like me and it is your first chronograph, I would recommend it. I don't think I would sell one to replace it with this one, but I am pretty frugal so....
