What’s the coolest thing you found in the back country

Cool or weird, i dunno.

I was deer hunting south of Arivaca Arizona down along the Mexican border and I found a kids backpack full of bricks of cocaine.

I’m assuming it was cocaine I suppose it could’ve been meth, some kind of white powder in brown wax paper.....probably about 30#.

I tried to give the border patrol the coordinates but they wanted nothing to do with it.
I believe they measure it in kilos …. 😂

A steam locomotive in the Panama jungle. This was in the '80s. I guess the locomotive must have dated from the late 1800s/early 1900s.

No evidence of tracks, and I couldn't tell where the railroad had been. The jungle had reclaimed the area. Just a locomotive in middle of the forest.

Should preface that this wasn’t really Backcountry but on some in-laws property that is back there.

Found several old homesteads, here is a cabin on the US/Canadian border, not sure if it’s an old trapper cabin or what

Found an intact bear skull this past season, Hayes guessed age in the teens. First bear dead head I’ve found.

I grew up in rural TN, it was very common to run across really old graves in the woods, occasional family plots, from early 1800s

Always wondered how old this is. Looks like it would've been there for a long time.
