I shot everything inside 2moa with mine while testing hand loads. Right out the box. Total of about 30 rounds. It’s a shooter for sure. Same experience at 50 to zero scope with 77otm BH - big ragged hole.

That said - it’s no more accurate than my 65.00 BCA pencil barrel. At least not in my hands…yet.


I single fed 77tmk loaded at 2.425” and 3 went right at an inch at 100, average speed 2830 with lever. I don’t know what I’ll do with this information, but it’s cool to know. I’ll be able to put these in the wife’s Christmas present(Howa mini I just scooped up).

My Solo/Shaw "not-quite UL/UL" has drawn first blood. It's 5lb 13oz with optic and suppressor and 10 rounds of 223 in the Lancer mag.

This doe fell to a 55gr Hornady SP. Not a terribly long shot at 70 yards admittedly but it worked just fine for a high lung shot. The bullet did not exit, but must have gone out with the viscera so I don't have post-mortem analysis.

It's a joy to tote this little rifle around for sure.

I hope so! And if they would make a shorter barreled option... like a 10.5 or 12 inch portless 223 wylde, I'd buy a couple!

The boys who shot my ARs this weekend all agreed that metal was no fun in the cold weather. An UL UL with a non-metallic hand guard will be a winner.

This whole thread has gotten me excited. I know that a heavier rifle is often easier to shoot well but I can't shoot what I don't find! I know for a fact that I travel faster on non hunting backpacking trips because I have a lighter pack. For black bears at least, I wonder if I might kill more just by moving faster. So I'm looking at my weight savings

• UL UL Rifle - Saves roughly 4 pounds (depending on final set up)
• Lighter spotting scope - Saves roughly 2 pounds

With those weight savings AND a more compact rifle, I could probably ditch my bigger hunting pack and carry my DIY pack that is based on a Seek Outside frame but only weights about 2.5-3 pounds. It doesn't work well strapping a rifle to the side but a collapsible stocked UL UL would solve that. Total savings could be in the 8 pound range. I think I'll feel that in places like this

Ironically, now that you mention it, my love of spot-and-stalk black bear hunting in this stuff is also the number one thing that led me to pursuing all this lightweight stuff in the first place. I learned a long time ago that getting up the mountain as fast as possible was key to having a bear still around when you got there. Now that I have it though, heavier stuff is annoying to carry, even on flat stuff.

Depends on what loads and temps it will be subjected to. Basically every polymer lower is Nylon, and nylon is notoriously difficult to bond. But this one is purpose built for it, though results may vary. I haven't used this exact flavor, but loctites industrial stuff is the gold standard. You'll need an applicator gun, get a cheap knockoff one to save a few bucks.

I've used a clear jbweld product that needs mixed if I recall. Has held my aluminum arca rail on my carbon fiber handguard... don't recall the specifics though, I'd have to check when I get back in town

I think epoxy bonds pretty well to CF, but as @BREAKCONTACT said, nylon is a whole different animal.

I'll be checking those out. Curious to see exactly how they function. They'll be coming out with other chamberings in January, including 6ARC. I don't know how lightweight they might be able to be, but could still potentially make a lightweight bolt rifle.
