Am I missing something about RRA and their AR's? I have done a lot of searching and the only videos / information that I can find is about 9-13 years ago. Old data. I was looking at one of their predator pursuit uppers to mate up to my lower I have lying around. Some of their AR15 223 wylde chambered rifles have a 3/4 moa guarantee. I'm sure that incorporates the entire system, barrel, their 2-stage trigger, free floated handguard, buffer system, etc. But they also sell their barrels. I have read lots of info on the top tier barrel manufactures, shilen, douglas, WOA, but no mention or no one talks about RRA barrels or that they have one. So, if a company mentions that their rifles have a 3/4 moa guarantee and some moa or better, why isn't there more recent information about them? Are they not considered upper tier and if so, who gives a crap if they can shoot. So again, I ask, am I missing something?

You mean Rock River Arms ? I have one and love it , it shoots 3/4 MOA or better with junk ammo . It has the bull barrel , but no complaints here . I bought it in 2016.IMG_1358.jpg

RRA is kind of an odd ball. 9-13+ years ago they were definitely relevant. In the Tactical world I would not say they were top tier but they were solid rifles. Many LEOs had RRA. In the hunting world, specifically the coyote hunting world I would say they were an upper tier off the shelf rifle. Everyone I knew that shot them had excellent luck. I couldn’t afford one but wanted one bad.

They for what ever reason did not keep up with the explosion of the AR platform. They stayed stagnant and did what they did until just the last few years. The tactical world now views them as trash. The hunting world doesn’t even know about them due to the thousands of other options now.

You won’t hear people talking about RRA barrels because for the longest time they wouldn’t sell just the barrel. Now they do but they are charging a premium and majority of AR owners don’t know who they are or were

I have a RRA Fred Eichler edition upper in 223/556. 16” barrel with 1:8 twist. It shoots factory ammo very good, but my handloads with 80 gr Bergers will shoot around moa out to 750 yards on a dead calm day. If it’s a little breezy just forget about it. It has impressed everyone that I shoot with.

Had a 20" predator pursuit upper for a while and it shot pretty dang well. I bought it around 10 years ago.

I'm pretty sure back then at least they used wilson barrels.

I think "accuracy guarantees" are typically a joke but I do think RRA uppers have been a good bet for a tight shooting AR.

I have an x-1 and zero complaints. Shoots factory ammo 53gr-77gr great. For daytime coyote calling it’s my go too.

This is very similar to what I'm looking at. Their 16" predator pursuit complete upper, with BCG and charge handle to mate with my M4E1 Aero lower. It does have a heavy contour but not bull contour. I too am considering the classic A2 stock.

Like the comments mentioned, If I ask someone directly that has one, they all shoot. But finding information online that is recent, not so much. My gunsmith and friend kept mentioning them.

The machinist training program at the Rock Island Arsenal is what gave birth to a remarkable number of gun manufacturers clustered around Rock Island Illinois, Le Claire Iowa, Geneseo IL.

Also, it was my gunsmith that put me on to them. He has a RRA national match rifle that he loves. If I can get decent enough accuracy out of it for coyotes and a possible prairie dog trip later in year, I'll be stoked.

Man that's great. Weight it's a problem but dont want a bullet barrel.

I actually just went pick up my lower and did background check and all. This is the upper I'm considering:

I have a fully built 18” fluted predator stainless that stacks 69 SMK into one hole groups at 100. Everyone fights to borrow/shoot that gun a lot.

It has been fantastic for range/hunting.

It's similar to what my plans are for this. I have SHTF AR's that run flawless, but I really haven't played around with them a whole lot for accuracy. This will be a designated DMR type setup. I have an Arken EPL4 coming strictly for this setup. Hunting / range / playing.

I was in the same boat and also tried out an Arken on my setup. I was quite surprised (in a positive way) about both the rifle and the Arken EPL4. I don’t abuse it, but it does just fine in the back of the truck, quad, and general ranch-type hunting.

I run those 69SMK’s at about 2950fps over either TAC or Varget and get incredible accuracy. I also run a regular A2 stock and I think it helps with overall precision/accuracy on AR platform.
