So I went and re-zerod with the OEM mount, and it's much better with the straight pull action for me.

The ADM will be used on my games ARs still, but the OEM mount allowed me to just pull without worrying about busting my knuckles.

Also, I'm really liking the 3x prism in this application. It is easy to get behind, and I'm not having an issue with "chin weld" on the buffer tube.

Even running the factory mount, I have taken a few layers of knuckle off, more than once.

Your adapter must be steel? The scythe-ti and I think a few others are all Ti if I'm not mistaken.
- I've got a scythe-ti in jail
Yeah, it's stainless steel.

I didn't go full "gram weenie" on my build.

About 5 pounds loaded, with silencer and sling seems pretty sweet to me.

I don't know how much I'd be willing to spend to go lower.

What are the details on your handguard? Did you glue the CF tube to the nut, and hand tighten? Which barrel nut did you use?
It's a JAG barrel nut, and carbon-fiber tube off of Amazon. It was too small, so I sanded down the inside just enough that it goes on very tight. On my previous build, I used one screw to hold it on... but I think this one will be fine as is. It takes some real effort to get it off.

(y) Keep an eye on it to watch for it slipping forward under recoil/carrying. I make a similar set-up, and even though it's pretty tight, and held with a CF clamp, it still slipped forward after a while. I repositioned it, put Locktite on the clamp screw and tightened the clamp down a little more, and it has been fine since then.

This is where I'm really questioning losing that 1.5oz over the Jag handguard, especially because I'll be having a sling tugging on the end of it... also, I don't typically care much about looks, but the Jag is so sexy!
Edit: maybe it's closer to 2oz with the hardware, hmm. I think the solid nature of the Jag may help make a better rest too, but I often rest my rifles that way when I take deer&elk

Yeah, it'll shoot better at 5lb vs 4lb too. Unless you're hiking long distance in nasty terrain in the rockies then I wouldn't bother. I hunt those conditions with an injured knee and spine, so weight is paramount...
You could probably shave a pound with some fairly cheap carbon fiber tube, and some other relatively inexpensive parts. Not exactly sure what you have though.

I don't know, the PCC carbon fiber handguard I used is pretty freaking light.

I'd be curious what it weighs, or I could look it up if you know the specific model & maybe length. If they're like Jag, there are a ton of options

Well, here it is with a 2x micro prism. Normal butt stock but I do have a CF one to whittle on and install. Will probably cut it quite short for the wife and kids.

Mine was hard to chamber so I took the o ring off. Worked way better. I had two 12 year olds from a hunting program try it. Both agreed they liked the charging handle on the left better than on the right. They both shot it and said they liked the experience.
It's probably going to be an all winter project but so far so good.
