Silencer Central

Great question. The problems initially started when I was approved after less than 50 days. I paid them off very quickly after that, and SC’s response when I called a few days later was “that’s really fast. We aren’t used to that. We don’t know what to do.” This led to “a mix up between accounting and customer service” that lasted weeks and precluded my ability to file the final 4473. Once that was worked out, they went completely silent. No emails, won’t respond to calls. When, after weeks and approximately 20 messages left with supervisors, they only response I get is “we are working on it.”
That’s strange. What do the customer service goons say when you just call to ask? Same thing ?

Is it possible they don't have trust paperwork completed?
It’s certainly possible. But I’ve been told I’ve done everything that I can do. I am under the impression the trust paperwork is complete. Hence the frustration with the lack of communication and movement.

I believe they are in shambles. Had past positive experience but had a warranty issue with one of mine. Took numerous calls/emails and over 40 days to finally get a return authorization and no communication since. I havent haven't tried contacting them since I mailed the suppressor back over a month ago because trying to talk to someone isn't worth the aggravation. I'm buying a different one locally and am confident I'll get my new one before hearing from SC, if I ever hear from them. Sad

Yup, my banish 30 is fused shut, trying to deal with them is a joke so I’m just treating it like a sealed can.

I'd be curious, has anyone else had any experience with other online sellers? I went with Silencer Central because of the trust and the delivery to the door. Anyone put a suppressor on a trust through another seller, or get it to the front door? Cuz that crap felt like black magic and made my only real stress the wait.
i have one through silencer central, took about 10 months total. no issues. Now I did call CS on an issue I had with using a trust from my first silencer and they were no help and even gave me wrong information.

i have one through silencer shop and a few more in the pipeline. They have been much more helpful when calling CS. I do have one that got some information wrong and it’s held up my submission for over a month. Had to resubmit after the first one was rejected due to atf changing an interpretation on who is a RP.
summary, I would only use silencer central if you want a banish can. Otherwise I would use SS or a local dealer. Fwiw my banish 46 is a well made can, works well, but is heavy and huge. Probably due to being for a 45 cal rifle. None of the decent 45 cal rifle cans are small or light.

At this point, it’s purely hypothetical to me.
Hopefully they get it sorted out sooner than later, I’d personally be on the phone daily. It seems like there must be some legal precedent for this. You paid, you were approved by the ATF, how long can they refuse to give you what you paid for?

I appreciate that. I do call daily, most often with no response. I’d love to go to my credit card company to discuss options, but I doubt that would be a good thing considering the topic… Rock and a hard place.

@Ramtough14 how long ago or what date did you get your approval? Were all of your cans approved at once?
