I hate a lot of the videos and social media around a lot of hunt for this reason. But from a business side your saying there stupid for sending him on a hunt because that’s gonna connect with new people ( that may buy there gear to go hunting) and crowd the woods even more? there business is selling clothes so I feel like you just admitted it was a good move for them.

Their business is selling hunting clothes, so it is a bit short sighted to draw more people into a market that seems to be at about its peak, there is a tipping point and when we reach it a lot of people will fold up their tents and go home, thus killing their business model, then again I guess if they can break into the “lifestyle” branding enough they can kill hunting and never look back because if they become a fashion statement in the greater populace and not just hunting subculture they will make more than they ever could off of hunting

No one needs anything more than a pair of pants, a jacket, and a shirt?

That’s hilarious
Please elaborate, what other clothes are needed????

I’ve been at it 35 years now and each and every time i’ve worn pants, various shirts based on weather, and some sort of jacket of varying warmth. What am i missing so i know what i need to buy for my 36th season coming up being so new to hunting and all!

Thanks in advance.

There's not yearly opportunity in Utah? I was thinking you'd say nevada lol

I know it's against the grain of this thread but there's a new gritty podcast with Brady Miller about hunters perception on getting tags

Brian call -"if your someone that complains about competition, your a bitch, and your gona lose"

Typically dont like gritty but i guess we semi aline on this topic, wish he wouldn't have posted the video tho 🤣
Brian's answer to that is to leech onto people that know what they are doing and exploit it. That dude is scum

I get the ideology and as a guy who has hunted in hand me downs and general store gear, I bought a Sitka set from the classifieds for a very very reasonable price and have enjoyed the gear. Not sure I could ever bring myself to buying it new or full price. People get gear all kinds of ways and judging a hunter on their gear seems a bit short sighted.

What kind of prima donna has more than one hunting shirt?!
And multiple jackets too!?

I bet you look down on others from your fancy horseless carriage too!

He has most definitely stated that social media is an issue in the few episodes I’ve listened to. So unless he changed his viewpoint on that, I’m not sure. I will add, though, I’m not disagreeing with that statement as a whole.

Side note: I don’t really care. I’m just commenting because I’m new in Rokslide and I’m trying to hit my comment limit 😂

Ok, I’ll help you reach your limit.

You need to separate “social media” from “hunters showing dead animals on social media to gain followers and make money.”

He will use “social media” while inferring the latter.

Good luck with your sales

Thought we were talking about CLOTHING????

Are Sitka, FL, etc making stuff other than pants, shirts, and various jackets now? Do we have $1000 technical Sitka boots too now?
I always thought shoes were clothes but I am not nearly the fashion aficionado that some on this forum seem to be.

Buddy, relax a little bit. This thread is not life or death. I agree with what you’re saying, but what are your solutions? You seem to have all the answers. So how do you separate the two and eliminate one without doing away with the other?

Mate, you have misinterpreted my comment entirely.

Never said I had “all” the answers, but I have a brain and often put it to use. My post was to simply clarify that you are conflating two of his positions and shouldn’t.

For the record matt posted yet another podcast on this topic where he talks about some things on this very post. Have at it.

$999 Waders! Wow
Worth every dollar if you spend any amount of time duck hunting water. I have spent more than enough days as a kid wearing walls coveralls and bread sacks in my boots to keep my feet dry but then they were wet and froze from the sweat. So i will gladly pay to have nice clothes and be comfortable while waiting in December for the geese to fly.

Wait, you mean you need to have multiple Sitka products to get through the season????
I’m willing to give it all up.
Do I have to buy the cheapest clothes at Walmart? Or do I get kicked out of the club if I get the nicer one on the rack? 34.99 instead of 29.99? After all, that more expensive one is obviously just ridiculous. They only put them there for the suckers that walk through…
Wait a minute! I bet I could get something second hand! That’ll show all those “buy new hunting clothes” people!!
Hot dog! I, too can be cool again
