One solution I can see is just add it as a checkbox on Party Applications....

"If your party fails to draw in the general drawing, do you want to be considered for Released tags as an individual."

Not that there aren't enough complications as it is... but I could see this being a compromise.

From what I’ve seen here, it seems like most would rather just not draw at all if everyone in the party doesn’t….which leads us back to either the entire party draws or the entire party doesn’t. Personally, I think that if you choose to roll the dice and potentially gain points that aren’t technically yours during a party draw, you shouldn’t be considered as an individual in a re-draw.

Having an entire party draw or not draw would simplify a lot since those wouldn’t be looked at in a re-draw. I’d be happy to hear other points of view/solutions though.

No, I see your point of view... all or nothing seems best/easiest. Maybe parties just can't be considered for "released" tags

Anybody know why moose is still pending, or is that just me? (I don't know why I even care, I have one point).

According to Mary at FWP earlier today:

2.2 points and higher = 100% draw success

2 points = 83.1% draw success

I’m in the unlucky 16.9%.

85ish percent was what I guessed a few weeks ago.

Next prediction is a last minute change to bill in Helena next winter that allows outfitted clients to buy three points during application.

That’s about what I expected, I think I guessed 85% for 2.

I think the fact they didn’t zero out preference points for folks who didn’t apply last year and the fact you could buy an extra point until Dec 31st 2022 helped push the creep up.

I’ll bet with the “apply or lose” rule being implemented that might slow things, but only being offset by the loss of tags to nonresident landowners with the bill getting pushed through the legislature.🤬

Curious to see what 0% odds were.

Too soon to ask when unsuccessfuls get our refund? Is that via credit to source of payment, or paper check, etc? Ready to drown sorrows in unnecessary gear acquisition.

MT has had the PP only option for as long as I have been applying. You had to apply every 3rd year to not lose them. Now it’s every 2nd year. Is that going to every year?

I suspect 0% odds was 1 pt. Those with 0 points got the 25% random. Those with 2 points had an 83% chance. In between 0 and 2 is no man’s land.

That’s true but in the past it wasn’t available nearly as late the year prior from what I recall. Only until Aug 31 IIRC.

2022 changed to gotta apply consecutive (every) year or points are purged.

1pt is for sure 0%. It’s a preference point system. Guessing 0pt (random 25%) odds were around 50-60%.
