That’s not an option either. If one person in the party buys a point, everyone has to buy a point.

There’s no way that 1.33 drew a deer tag and 2 didn’t.

Well **** me I’ve never applied in a party so didn’t realize. My bad.

I went back and read the thread, he drew a DEER combo with 1.33. Those of us who didn’t draw with 2 pp are talking about big game or ell combo.

That is exactly how Montana’s preference point draw for combo tags works.

Pretty sure you are spot on.

75% of the tags go to the people with the highest points above 0.
25% of the tags go to the people with exactly 0 points.

If someone drew the deer combo with 1.33pts then a person with 2pts should have drawn as well. I am guessing the guy who said he had 2pts did not actually have 2pts.

No, you have to be successful in the general combo draw to be eligible for the limited entry draw

Strange says the permit is successful, but no general tag. Guess I will keep checking.

Usually it’s pretty quick after the LE permits are drawn. Those tags that are returned immediately go into that next drawing. Any tags turned in after this week will most likely be used for the alternate list. I wouldn’t expect to hear anything about the alternate list until August or so.

Thank you kind sir. I’m thinking I shouldn’t have told MFW that I shot something last year in my 3 weeks hunting. I’m thinking that’s how they allocate tags, they want the dudes who hunt all year long without touching off a round

My buddy said that the party had 2 average, worst case they had a 1.5 average and didn't draw

Ha! Already done. Will be nice to not be carrying that ~1k on the credit card! Good luck!

Also, I could already download my e-tag to the FWP app as of this afternoon. So I guess that means it’s really real I drew.
