I don't know how Ruger does it but the original Americans are shooters. Everyone I have ever seen has had fantastic accuracy.
There are legitimate arguments to be made for the crudeness of manufacture, and the cheap stock, but for the money, vs the accuracy you get, it's damn hard to beat. Hopefully the new generation delivers for the increased price.
Agreed. Have had several, and never came across one of them that wasn’t a pure shooter. Hopefully the Gen 2 keeps that going with an improved feel as well

Has anyone shouldered one of these? Curious how that stock feels? Looks off the butt stock

The looks kinda reminds me of seekins. As far as the original ones that I have owned or currently owned, they all have been shooters.

They just launched it like 3 or 4 days ago. Unless you're a guntuber or gunrag writter, no one has seen one in person yet. They're not on the shelves anywhere yet. Looks like a couple places online are listing them in stock, but idk if that's in anticipation of a later ship date or they actually got them right away.

I"v been wanting someting in 22 Creedmore but if the Gen IIs get good reviews I think I'll get a Ranch in 22 ARC. Leaves me some $$ to get a can for it.

Not to derail this thread but can some drop a link to info on the "ARC" rounds? I'm just not familiar. I tend to stick with more standard calibers for availability etc but seeing as how ruger is offering them has me curious.

108gr ELDM with a max load of Varget. Runs out of steam at just under 500 yards. Pretty good for a gun with less than 9lbs of recoil.

Yes. Hogdon load data. MV ran through JBM. I ran it with 6.5 Staball also which is a speed powder and it was only 40 or so FPS faster which was surprising.

That's gas gun velocities. Pump that up to 62kpsi for a bolt gun.

Hornady shows the 108 ELD-m at 2850 with LeverR.

Interesting. That was just from the online Hogdon load generator.

It'll be interesting if they can still maintain their current price point. If they start creeping up, there's no way I'm buying a RA over a Tikka for $700-800 after owning both.
I had the same thoughts. Just looked and they are currently 599 on GunBroker, so not as bad as I thought…

As much as I love Tikka rifles, Ruger has considered the desire for short barrels for hunting suppressed and light recoil calibers to spot shots.

I might buy one of these.
I have a gen 1 in .308 Predator, I missed a cow elk last weekend when I shouldn't have. I went to check zero with my last remaining 6 rounds I had loaded which was 178gr ELDM over IMR4895. The scope had in fact lost zero. But the gun printed a 3/4" (measured) 6 shot group at 100 yards. No one can say they aren't accurate.
