New Athlon Chronograph

Just watched a YT video from Shot Show where a new Athlon Chrono is coming out in early April to rival the Garmin. Same form factor with larger screen and larger font. Planned price point is $350, which puts it in reach of more folks and at least $150 cheaper than the Garmin. Looking forward to hearing the reviews this spring.

Our policy has always been to charge your card when the order is made. We do that for a couple reasons. 1 it keeps the tire kickers to a min, so the orders in front of yours are actual buyers. 2 some CC companies limit the amount of time we can wait to process the order.

However, you can cancel your order at any time between when you place your order and when your order is shipped to get a full refund. We do process those refunds very quickly.

Looking forward to these hitting the shelves in the UK hopefully. The Garmin is circa £600 over here so quite expensive and these will definitely fill the void at a more reasonable price

I saw today that @Camera Land has the Athlon available for pre-sale on their website too. I'm not sure if they will get any demo models in early, and the website just says delivery in spring.

I'm starting a chrono museum. It can sit on the shelf and get dusty next to my pro-chrono and magnetospeed sporter.

Come on, not that bad. Still better than magnetospeed and miles better than an optical chrono that folks relied on for years. I wouldn't pay near Garmin $ for one but for the budget conscious, it does what is needed.

Absolutley, I ran mine yesterday working up 280 AI loads. Sure it's bigger bulkier but it works just fine. The word buried does apply, seen some for less than a third of what I payed. I'll run mine til it quits.

I have noticed that many places have the Garmin units "on sale" for $500. That is $50 off MSRP. If the Athlon units work, then I am guessing the Garmin prices will come down further.
