Harmons gotta drop their price soon…right? Even though I already have one.
Supply and demand... However, they may come off the top of the mountain if they start to lose market share. I have a magnetospeed for now, but it's an unreliable PITA. Looking forward to one of these no-nonsense units that you set and forget.

We have one coming in a couple of weeks to demo and test. We'll get some good content and a solid review as quick as we can. We have a ton on order and should have them on the shelf in the first or second week of April. But we will be taking pre-orders starting tomorrow.

I would also like to see results on this. Curious about the velocity range. S&S site says up to 3900fps but everywhere else says 5000fps? Hoping for 5000fps for my needs

Interested to see how the Athlon data download is. As good as the Garmin is, it sounds like data download to Excel is wonky.

just out of curiosity…. What are you shooting over 3900fps? May be a bit of a challenge to run that fast and see consistent SDs over 20-30 shot samples.

I’ve been wanting to pick up a garmin but the price point after all I’ve dropped this year on gun stuff has had me stalling. Saw the YT on this new option and for the price I’m going to pick one up.
The little differences and preferences of one vs the other won’t make much of a difference to me. Does it work? Is it accurate? Is all I’m looking for.

Right now I am shooting 55gr Nosler ballistic tip in a .243 win. The load I settled on now is shooting right at that 3900fps mark but have pushed them over 4000fps before depending on powder used. Still using an old chrony and it gets a little finicky at high speed. Just want something that will read higher velocities and not be at the limits edge

Be cool to see the Athlon, but over 500 shots with 3 calibers and several bullet weight/caliber my Garmin has been flawless. Never missed a shot to include crossbow and a .22 cal pellet gun. A bit better data collection would be better, but the unit is as easy as it gets, turn it on, click a couple selections and get going. Syncing happens basically live.

It’s not bad. I export the csv to Google sheets and have folders for the various cartridges. It is pretty straightforward.

I agree completely. As a group of guys I shoot prs with we’ve ran the garmin for load development, practice and even velocity validation on prone stages during matches and it’s never missed a single shot or thrown any errors. Hard to go away from something so proven and reliable to save a couple hundred bucks.

Taggin in, I have a magneto V3 that's been good, but may be persuaded by the lower price point of the Athlon. Hoping for good reports.
