I know quite a few high level Class 3 owners... they're way more down to earth than the weekend tacticool types. Far more invested and they have to be much more careful.

In other news:
Finished Busse's book just now. Had he left out the NRA, Trump, and 'couch commando' condemnation, there wouldn't have been much of a book. For all the pomp of the book, the takeaway is the same old, same old: common sense gun laws, close the gun-show loophole, etc. No details of course on what that would actually look like or how it could be implemented with full support - mainly 'The NRA has polarized the country using guns and it's got to stop.'
One thing I found rather annoying is his constant referring to the 1911 (basically what made Kimber an ass-load of money), as a '100 year old design' as if Kimber making 1911s was an exercise in nostalgia. Clearly this was an attempt to minimize the fact it was a military weapon - gave it more of a Grandpa feel.
Interestingly he drew a firm line between a defensive weapon and an offensive one - the high-cap ARs are offensive and the golly-gee willikers 1911, with its 8rd capacity is of course defensive "designed to stop a 200lb man running at you' he stated at least twice. This meshes easily into where to draw the line on which guns YOU should be able to have (Who needs an OFFENSIVE weapon?)
I don't remember him addressing the 2A really at all, acted as though because Obama studied constitutional law at Harvard his opinion on the Constitution was sound, and again, you want pew-pews (yes he talked about this) largely due to fear, white supremacy, and machismo.
You all should read it.
Completely unnecessary to read such drivel. Long story shorter. Dude is wrong... AND... he's a freakin idiot for thinking there is some weird distinction between the kinds of arms an individual citizen should need and what his governance should be allowed to have... THAT... is his "major malfunction".

Yup.
Absolutely they could be. What's a contradiction is the response/backlash based on the facts we know. For one we have irrefutable proof of corruption, mishandling and misuse of org resources and money and one we don't. With that, one would think it would be obvious which organization gets criticized and held over the coals...except it's just the opposite.

A very common tactic that took place in the USFS just to name one entity that has been taken over by those who do not want hunters to hunt or want to close off large areas to off road vehicles, etc. In Cali, they simply close gates half the year under the guise of "It's winter and rains will rut the roads if people drive on them". It is bone dry here most of the winter. "There are Tiger Salamanders here, so close it down to all" Easy to plant a salamander and claim it's their habitat. Point being, the hard left has infiltrated most gov't run bureaucracies to the point they control those bureaucracies, all in the name of "Saving the forests"
Here where I am, Central Cal, the USFS does not or rarely even go into the forests any longer. They are all mostly keyboard warriors now. They just close the gates to many areas. That is their way of "managing" the forests. They hate off roaders and hunters, they love the rock climbers, hikers etc. I have no beef with the latter demographic , just saying how it is.
Where I had my remote recreational ranch, just 7 years ago, there were regular patrols, clean up at camp sights, grading roads, and relative easy access. Today they quit grading the roads to the point one can barely drive thru and if you have 2-wheel drive, forget it. That is how they "manage" the forests today. Many areas run by Mexican Cartels growing reefer. When that became legal in Cal, that was suppose to end the black market when in fact, it fueled it because there are enough people to buy their product to avoid the high taxes that come with buying legal pot. I did have grow sights within 1 mile of my camp that LE did raid because it was so obvious. Many areas they do not bother trying to eradicate the grow sites, too much trouble. If its blatant, they will, but they do not make much effort in doing so. So, now these forest lands have the risk of you stumbling upon a grow sight where growers are usually armed and commonly booby trap the area. You cannot even target shoot any longer in many areas of the Santa Lucia District which is within the Los Padres Nation Forest. Radical rabid anti-gun lovers have taken over most Gov't agencies here in Calif. Are there good eggs with that dept.? Yes, but they are marginalized and few.

The best part of this thread was when someone implied that BHA leadership was going to make more money off the idea of public lands than people who want to privatize them would from resource extraction. Like that's the conspiracy we should all be worried about. Land Tawney making money off hipsters buying tee shirts.
That's about the best example of BHA Derangement Syndrome I've seen thus far.

fair to say but i wouldnt discount instinct and secondary connections. If someone surrounds themselves with folks from x ideology, theyre likely to be at the very least soft on that front.
At least on the BHA check and Tawney, Physiognomy checks never bounce
