Personal problem and a total lack of understanding in how land and wildlife resources are managed independently of one another. I can't force you to understand...and until you do it's going to be a struggle for you.

Just realize your lack of understanding isn't going to change the outcome of how any state manages it's wildlife resources.
I don’t have a personal problem. The attack you just posted highlights your frustration and is pretty classless. I will leave this thread now.

What attack? Pointing out facts seem to frustrate you.

I'm well aware of how wildlife is allocated and the states rights to manage it.

I have no grievance with, as an example, north Dakota giving all 400 of it's moose permits to residents. Or Montana limiting me to up to 10% of their permits, or Colorado not allowing anyone but residents to apply for rfw permits.

I don't threaten them, I don't try to tie federal ownership of lands within their borders to what I feel I deserve as a nr of those states in regard to their wildlife.

I guess for some it's a one way street...it's
just illogical and ridiculous.

Most of what you post is entertaining, in a "Dumb and Dumber" sort of way, but this little gem is one your best ever.
I'm smart enough to live in a state with good resident opportunities...and understand the law regarding same.

Also smart enough to be thankful for nr opportunities I'm afforded in states I'm not a resident of...and not tell them what I think I'm owed.

Best to just say thank you to them and move on...some savvy that, some seem more inclined to shoot themselves in the foot.

I think what a few are trying to point out is that at one point we thought we were all on the same side as hunters, and it’s apparent we are not.

And now people are upset they are taking their ball, going home, and no longer think they need to support a cause that no longer benefits them.

Right, wrong, or indifferent. Division is happening. Some are pushing it even

Guarantee those leases would cost way more if on private.
Nope. A lot of landowners don’t have mineral rights and do not get royalties, only rent. Others are paid less, some more. It depends on how bad they want the lease vs how bad the oil company does. With the feds it’s not negotiable.

And you are ok doing it all while others fund the state, it would be one thing if WY actually could cover the majority of it’s needs alone.

How long does permitting take on private vs federal land?
Not a huge difference. A matter of weeks to a few months. Considering some wells produce for up to and occasionally more than 100 years it’s negligible. I had a well in Grass Creek that was drilled in 1912 and was still producing in 2012. Now I work in minerals, this plant was built in the early 1950’s and will still be paying into federal coffers 100 years from now. Unless we find a better way to make glass, detergent, livestock feed, baking soda, caustic soda (lye/sodium hydroxide) and some pharmaceuticals just to name some off the top of my head. We have about 100 years worth of trona yet to be mined.

Also, permitting takes longer on federal land for a reason, other resources have to be protected. I’m all for that.

Kansas residents receive nearly 3 times as much as Wyoming residents receive in federal funding.

It's available...research it.

Per resident Kansas receives $1670 in federal aid, wyoming residents $630...fact
Such a small amount, each state could make that up and not be dependent. That amount for KS though is a drop in the bucket for overall state funding compared to WY, WY could easily handle an income tax and increased fees for big game animals.

These lands don’t generate near the wealth for this nation that they could, it in itself is a social welfare program.

What it comes down to is most nonresidents do not live in states with vast holdings of public lands and they have a large base in the fed gov, yet those that do always ask for support, especially orgs such as BHA and when a politican does try to sell them, they ask nonresidents to plead to their elected officials.

The more hunting becomes a greed trophy sport the more it’s base will erode and the fewer supporters we’ll see.

Those that experience these lands once or if ever will be a hard sell, same goes for the future of hunting.

Dude read that to yourself slowly, maybe out loud. Our land isnt making the money it could we should sell it and in the same breath I dont want hunting to become a rich man's sport. You are beyond reasoning with. Good luck to you.

Most Americans will never step foot on BLM lands and would have zero issue selling. The 5 million that utilize public lands are a minority, even in CA. These are federal isssues and the majority of states Voters don’t care as much as you think. Historically it has been hunters voices that were the loudest, that’ll fade.

Yes historically you are right, doubt it lasts forever. I bet 1-10,000 voters in most states even care about public land outside of National Parks they vacation to or even know they exist.

If I remember right, last time this was pushed it included WY politicans.
That's a great idea then what do you think happens? Hunter numbers reduce and if they have no land to hunt on they have no reason to support hunting as a recreation and just as you have pushed to end the way they used to hunt on public land.. I am willing to bet alot of bitter people will push to end hunting entirely so people like you who obviously enjoy hunting private and perfer it that way face the same fate.

I believe that federal land funding is a rather small percentage of the actual federal budget well small in government terms

As a new wyoming resident I wasn't originally in support of 90 10 for dea put I am definitely get pushed that direction
