Government Checks

For those that don't want or need your check (if they come) go to the bank and get it in cash. Then go order the cheapest meal you can at your favorite local joint. Give half your cash to the owner when you pay, and leave half for the waitress/waiter.

Congrats you've now helped small business, helped your fellow man, and stimulated the economy!

Now they're going to tax it as earned income or a refund advance for the 2020 tax year.

This has now become a waste of time.

say what??

bail out bad business ideas and people that earn an income by not paying income tax aka cash tips??

I quit going out to eat forever ago when I realized ur buying crap food and 20$ not to do dishes and need to be entertained.

then again it is always entertaining to grab a coffee at McDonald’s in Walmart and watch mullets. 5:30pm is prime tome.

hands down best Walmart for this is the one in Aberdeen Washington. Holy smokes. There was a full set a teeth between maybe 3 people. Kids on leashes. Wisconsin waterfalls everywhere. Thongs poppin on walruses. It was all time!

all time. And I’ve been Walmart mullet watching 20+ years across the country. Aberdeen Washington.

I don't consider new tires for the SUV/4x4 a waste …. not that I need it, but if they want to give it... why look a gift horse in the mouth …

Agree. One more reason to be happy my wife I are over the threshold.

Futher more i hope they add similar stipulations to companies getting bailouts. However we know the answer to that. We will bailing out airlines that took no Initiative to build cash reserves and instead bought back their stocks.

I agree, there needs to be an X% of your operating expenses on hand before buying stock, or some type of calculation.

Unless I’m remembering wrong, didn’t the banks and the car companies pay back their loans with interest? AIG was the only loser I seem to recall.

In some cases yes, however with intrest is debatable because government took equity shares of many of the earlier tarp payouts. These increased on a year percentage, knowing they would be bought back buy the companies.

Lots of people, shareholders, where never made whole regardless.
There is a lession to be learned from it if we can bring ourselves to learn it.

I am right there w the voices here saying, "Now it is more important to do best for most, not just me."

Here is some simple math that our leaders can manage: Take the total chunk of stimulus $. Issue it to each state by proportion of its portion of total US population. State legislatures should decide how to distribute that state's portion of stimulus $ better that the US gov't can. IMO.

You have a distorted view assuming most state governments managing anything better than the feds.
