Yea me too …nice to have someone to bounce ideas off. I don’t live at the end of the road by I can see it from here and right between two Wilderness areas, if I’m not outside shooting,hiking or skiing I’m in my shop building something.
Yes 52100 , ABE-L are great to put an edge on…love it when you get the hair burr when you finish it on the strop. Those two and Magnacut are my go to steels.
Jared—Really enjoying the little Canadian belt knife you made for me. I really like the slicey, high flat grind. It’s become an everyday carry sort of knife for me and has replaced my folding knife. Thanks!

Are you making these solely for personal use, or (say) for other RS members?
So far, so good on the MagnaCut. I can tell you it’s a heck of a lot easier to hand sharpen than the M390 I was using prior to this and seems to be tougher. Definitely the best stainless steel out there. As you can probably see, I tend to hand sharpen with a few trimmed sheets of wet-dry sandpaper (400, 800, 1000, and 2000 grit) laid on the back of my strop block. And then I strop the edge to a mirror finish. The M390 definitely needs a diamond stone, but the MagnaCut does fine with my cheapo, lightweight, sharpening kit if it gets dull in the field.
I tend to make more in the winter during my slow time and I also get my dewar filled so I make a bunch of stainless …if you want something made PM me. I’ve got a few more versions heat treated and got a Gorhmann that should be here tomorrow so I can make an original style (copy) with a full flat grind out of Magnacut with orange g10.Are you making these solely for personal use, or (say) for other RS members?
You can’t go wrong with a CBK, it is such a unique and functional design.

Those are some sweet looking sheaths, though I’m partial to deep carry sheaths with thin/discrete clips.
Check this for inspiration. Hands down the best edc leather pocket sheath design ive seen. My buddy has one, it’s perfect. Unfortunately they only make them for a couple models of knife, and are hardly ever available. Would be absolutely perfect for your 3” model…

That is a really nice feature. I usually end up putting a short paracord lanyard on my knife to assist in drawing the bladeYou could put whatever clip you/customer prefers on that style of sheath. It’s the molded high portion with that long cutout that makes this one so good. Secures the knife but still allows you to get full hand placement onto the handle for removal from the sheath. No readjustment once it’s drawn, it’s already sitting in your hand read to go to work.

I've got some on the bench ready to be claimed. All you gotta do is shout lol.
I’ve been working on a #1 style and finally just ordered one so I could get the blade/handle correct. Looks like it needs more straight angle, not radius and the blade needs thinned some with a more willow leaf shape . Took a little getting used to but once in hand I really like this style.
I really need to pick up a model 3. I'm not looking for an exact replica but definitely want to get closer to the original design
