Anyone ever have this happen? I’ve had it happen a few times. I think carbon falls down from the suppressor and gets in the chamber. Then it’s hard to chamber a round. Anyway to avoid? Or just need to clean suppressor more often?

It has happened to me. Dead Air Nomad Ti on a Tikka 6.5 CM T3x. Cleaned the can and no issues since .

Believe this happened to me on a deer hunt this year. Couldn't chamber a round. Luckily found a stick that was the appropriate shape to shove in the chamber and dislodge the carbon. I am not sure what the remedy is - clean the can more maybe?

I give mine the smack test.

If I can take the suppressor off and smack carbon chunks out of it by hitting it or tapping it on a table, it’s time.

You just smacked the carbon chunks out........screw it back on.

Yea they still come out when it’s that built up. Normally seems to be around 1oz of carbon I clean them. It’s always surprising what comes out when I do clean them.

I don’t think cleaning is necessary but if your okay just letting your can get heavier and risking carbon in your action that’s what is happening. Not a huge deal to smash some carbon to chamber a round but I want to keep that out of my mags, trigger group, and firing pin.

And by cleaning I’m talking multiple thousand rounds of creed or similar to where I’m thinking about it.

Happens a lot especially carrying muzzle up on pack. Friend missed a good bull cuz none his rounds would chamber, big chunk or carbon wouldn't allow bolt closure. Carry with a round in the chamber but trigger decocked perhaps.
