In the Tikka just take a fired or new case and resize it. No primer….take the tension off the neck a bit. Put resizing wax was on the bullet. It’s a push feed so you don’t need to do anything with the action.
Just feed the round to get it started. I put a mark on the bullet at the case mouth afterward to see where the boat-tail ends up in the case. I do it three times if one measurement is different a fourth time. Measure the CBTO to jam before you pull the bullet and you are done. Only need to do it once….It is so easy a caveman can do it! LOL
P.S. Long action cartridges with a max SAAMI COAL of 3.34” are an issue with the Tikka mag. In that case just load them up to 3.37” to fit the mag and be done with it. You won’t need to go through the process to find jam unless you are curious as to how much jump there is.
Actually the wax goes on the OGIVE of the bullet that contacts the lands….yup to prevent it from getting stuck.Does the wax on the neck prevent the bullet from getting stuck in the lands?
