Maybe carpooling to western hunts could become a thing. But then again I'm not sure how much some states (looking at you, Idaho) would appreciate a couple dozen busses with Texas plates rolling into their OTC elk units 😄.
Idaho needs to get over itself (shots fired)! I've never read more whining and excuses about not being able to close the deal when you've got home field advantage (more triggering). Now with even supposed less non-res hunters, the excuse this year will be 'something something inflation, something Californians, something couldn't kill a buck.'

On a serious note, I planned on closer to home, less hero-esk hunts this year to save costs. Will spend some time floating the Yellowstone, archery hunting locally, just not going to spend a ton of time scouting. May borrow the wife’s RAV4 and put a kiddie pool in the back for blood haha

Same here. A lot more local fishing trips, getting the kids out more etc.

Yeah guy takes office immediately beats on N.A. oil and gas. Green lights Russian pipeline to give them an advantage in that sector. Then thinks releasing oil from our reserves does anything to the price and touts it as a great idea. Then his boyfriend says something along the lines of "we don't want permanent solutions to temporary problems". So you admit there are solutions by unleashing our energy resources but you just don't want to? And you also think that issues like this won't pop up in the future? OH and beg other not so friendly countries to us for more oil. Yeah definitely not his fault at all. Dude is pathetic.

It is almost like another guy we all know laid out this exact scenario to us the last few years.

Gas is going to be $11 in Montana by hunting season. Heard they were subsidizing gas in Idaho for hunters, you may want to check that place out
Nope, we had a bunch of slides and avalanches that have closed the roads, road dept is out of fuel. We're closed indefinitely

It's not the Californians, it's the flat- billed hat wearing Utards that impact Idaho hunting. We should rename Diamond Creek zone to Cache-Idaho.

We all know that speculators drive oil prices. Been that way for a long time

And not one of them is over 5'1 or have any sleeves snorting bucked up off their huntresses bolt ons

Utahans will complain they cant kill anything this year because they dont have 1,000 trail camera pictures of an animal and all its siblings...
