I was upset I didn’t drawn an elk tag this year. Kinda works out now, because my scouting would have been scaled way down. Not going to blow the house budget on an elk hunt. I know, blasphemy! But priorities are in order here.

Wait till the price of groceries catch up to the news. Next week will be brutal at your local grocery chain.

My wife and I put an offer in on a house that was right across from the river with catfish and walleye, had chicken coups and a huge garden. We didnt get it but I was telling her last night that right about now, I am really wishing we would have because foods going to be a killer.

Really grateful I have elk, deer, and plenty of bluegills and crappies in the deep freeze. Wasn't going to plant a garden this year, but may need to rethink it. Peach and apple trees should be producing this year barring a late frost and gonna have to get stuff canned.

Guess I'll pay more for gas.

Would be interesting to know what the real impact was on Russia and weigh it against the real impact on us. Unfortunately at this point I'm 95% sure I wouldn't believe what someone told me if they actually knew.

The uncertainty and not being able to trust our government or mainstream media sources is the worst part about all of this.

I sold my place in CO and moved my family 1000 miles away with the intent of building out a camper van so we could travel more. So much for that in the near term. Leave it to the power hungry and inept politicians to screw things up for everyone.

We only get 7% of our petroleum from Russia. If fuel prices skyrocket, it ain't because of Biden or banning Russian oil imports, it's because Big Oil is externalizing their global deficits onto everyone, everywhere.

Edit - I wanted to add that most companies everywhere are externalizing inflation onto regular folks, even though they're seeing record profits. The smallfolk always get the crap end of the stick.

Going up .20 a day around here, Southern Cal. I paid $5.19 for reg. this morning. We only import about 200k barrels of crude per day from Russia. another 600k barrels of refined product. If Europe stopped importing from Russia, which it won't, that would put a real squeeze on not only Russia but Europe as well.

It's that 7% deficiency that domestic production would make the difference, problem is, it's not like turning on a spigot and just letting it flow.

These prices will definitely affect some people's ability to hunt/fish this year. I'm not sure I would go out of state if I pull one of those tags should I draw if fuel runs double from when I put in because it's not just fuel prices as you mention above with inflation on everything else as well.

Refreshing that someone on here gets it instead of just blaming Biden.

Absolutely. With supply chain issues and inflation, I think we're all in for a few years of hard times and buckling down. I'll likely be treestand hunting for a few years 🙃

I’m betting that it gets derailed. I’ll let it stand if it relates to Hunting, but remember I tried that with the Covid thread to no avail.

As much as I support domestic independence on energy etc, it should would be nice to not degrade awesome places like the Jonah Gas Field.
Hopefully this results in intelligent decision making in terms of future extraction.
