Idaho needs to get over itself (shots fired)! I've never read more whining and excuses about not being able to close the deal when you've got home field advantage (more triggering). Now with even supposed less non-res hunters, the excuse this year will be 'something something inflation, something Californians, something couldn't kill a buck.'
Idaho is totally over rated. Best to just keep rolling east to Montana.

Utahans will complain they cant kill anything this year because they dont have 1,000 trail camera pictures of an animal and all its siblings...
We'll find out Thursday if they whined loud enough, or paid off enough members of the wildlife board

Trying to decide if I want to brave the weather and 4 gallons of fuel to be there in person to witness it.

Oil prices are driven also by speculation.
Trump said build Keystone pipeline, and drill everywhere possible. Prices started going down immediately.
Biden on day 1 stopped the pipeline, stopped drilling on federal lands, prices started going up immediately.
Not too hard to figure out!

So speculation has nothing to do with the actual speculators then?

Also, do you think the oil producers would have drilled “everywhere” and kept pumping fuel at little to no profit just because Trump “said so”? He doesn’t give order to CEOs of oil production companies (I mean, I’m sure he thought he did, but he actually does not)

Unfortunately, I think blaming the current sitting president for everything is the default "non-thinkers" way of explaining anything problematic in our country. I remember the same stuff happening back when Bush was in office. I'm jaded on it. I'm pretty sure many folks these days would find a way to hold Biden responsible if they burnt their morning toast. It's just an easy out. I think we can be better.

Yep, and it was done non-stop from 2017 - 2020, so I think we're all sick of it and why you see it with who sits behind the Resolute Desk. Hard to sit still, though, when you see an incoming admin purposefully reverse everything done to prior admin did out of spite. The problem is, the office of the POTUS is being used as a pawn for a political tug-of-war and not for its intended purpose.

37,000 oil leases in the US 1 year ago. 9,000 now.
What has changed?

There were 37,000 leases up of bid/auction for development and it was reduced to 9,000. That's what this administration did early on, part of that 100 day thing whatever it was.

Doesn't mean 28,000 wells were plugged and abandoned. A lease may hold 10,000 wells, depending on the acreage in that lease.

If you think Idahoans are upset, you should check out the Colorado folks. Then again, when it's so bad that you have Pennsylvanians shooting Texans on Colorado OTC units, there's definitely cause for concern 😂. You're right though, everyone has a right to public land, but it's up to the wildlife agencies to make sure they aren't selling tags well-beyond what a unit can actually handle. Some of these units are turning into literal war zones because that out of state tag money is too sweet to pass up.

Last time gas went through the roof, I was able to get some good deals on trucks!!! Hopefully this will happen again, my fleet is aging and with today’s vehicle prices it sucks thinking about replacing them:)
Always a silver lining if you look hard enough...

I think you may find out who really needs a diesel that doesn't pull anything real soon.

Thankfully, people don't need to rely on the media for this data. The U.S. Department of Energy makes it publicly available.

Actually, much of it will be.

Maybe carpooling to western hunts could become a thing. But then again I'm not sure how much some states (looking at you, Idaho) would appreciate a couple dozen busses with Texas plates rolling into their OTC elk units 😄.
People hold Biden responsible because he shutdown the Keystone pipeline he promised to keep open almost on day 1. I live in PA and watched him promise all of the union contractors they would continue construction. They are all unemployed.

I personally don't hold Biden responsible for anything. He can't even read a speech off of a teleprompter and hardly knows where he is most of the time. Oh, wait. That's a stutter. When my grandfather was 80 he developed a "stutter" too. He used to tell me stories about fighting in Germany and he thought Christmas was in August. He never fought in the war or went to Germany.

How are they supposed to know where to dump 1000lbs of feed so they can "harvest" an animal? If we don't "run" trail cams, I can't get it on the Gram and keep my #prostaff.

Baiting has already been nixed, so they're good with that one. I think...
