I had my first on Aug 9
We started with a 32 name bracket and did a tournament style face off, with some saves and some double eliminations, putting the top 3 on fridge to let it marinate for a couple of months.
I wanted something with a euro flair and a little exotic, my wife wanted names hardly ever used or completely foreign. As someone who has to spell out their last name 5x a week, I said no to anything with weird spelling that people would butcher.
She had her heart set on Inara, which is the name of the 'concubine' on the Firefly tv show....name my daughter after a tv prostitute? nope.
So we compromised, I got Maya for a first name (had to change from Maja) and she got Enara for the middle name...Enara being the Basque word for swallow, the bird. It worked out because now I don't have to cross that bridge for the next kid.
