We had our top 3 names all ready when the daughter was born, but once she arrived non of them fit.
Shyann is the name that came outta nowhere and fit her to a T.

Me: "Hey honey, why are the broken condoms laying on the floor?"

Wife: "OMG...What!" - (runs frantically to the living room) - "If you call our children broken condoms one more time we're done!"
I have a friend who occasionally refers to my kids as FT1 and FT2. The "T" stands for trophy.

Since my wife and I both have a lot of Irish ancestry, we stuck with Irish names. Our top picks for girl names were
  • Claire
  • Fiona
  • Aiofe (pronounced Ee-fa)
  • Darcy
We had to meet her before we knew which one fit.

We had picked out Gracie Elise. And then had two boys. Never got to use it.

We like kaylee but did not like kay for a nickname ( no offence to the Kay's of the world. Lol ) so we change it to Taylee. My brother in law loves fishing for walleye so he has a Lindy

Make it something meaningful not just the trendy crap that is made up. Don’t try and get cute by spelling it weird to make YOU feel special. Your kid has to live with this name forever! And no matter what, don’t tell anyone before the kid is born. There is always someone that will have a poor reaction that will make you second think it.

Make the final decision when you see the little angel. Both of our girls had multiple options but my wife and I decided immediately after we saw them.

Congrats, enjoy the girl. They are awesome!

My leading name for our daughter was Aspen but my wife shot it down, so its all yours.

We had a hell of a time picking a name for our girl. Went back and forth for months. Months, people. Finally my old man was visiting and the three of us were just sitting around rifling through names online and Ayla was one of them. We both really liked it and had no negative associations with it and it stuck.

It took us like 2 minutes to name our little dude Jack. Family name we both liked.

My wife is scheduled to be induced on 9/9/19. We will be having our second daughter. First one is Bailey Ann. The second we are still deciding between Brandy Lee and Daisy Lynn.
