Your 2025 Goals

Continue to fight the battle of not being a lard ass.
Remodel a house that I closed on today with the Mrs. For my mother in law…. Ugh 😑

Try to get a day or two out Turkey hunting

Catch more smallies this year

Get my muzzleloader dialed up and not blow a chip shot on a bull this year 🙄. Also I just hope I get the opportunities/ amazing encounters I had last year when I was bow hunting

Get my 6mm cm put together and dialed in for a little 4th rifle deer hunt and hopefully find a buck bigger than my last one. Always my goal. 170+

Get out with the wife more often, have a 2.5 and .5 yr old girls at home and they can be handful. Oh and be a good hopefully more active dad this year with my girls, want to get my oldest hiking hills around our house this year, maybe get out for some shed hunting with my bigger girl

I have my wedding late September so hunting will be limited this year, but hoping to lose 40 pounds for that.

My big goal is to scout a new area and get a mature buck for the area. That and continue to learn the unit I’ve hunted the last 3 years for mule deer.

Got a cam pic from my buddy from my land in MO with a crap ton of turkeys on it. Might be a spring trip in my future...

Kill my first turkey. Kill my first elk. Enjoy the hell out of New Zealand and get a red stag and tahr. Montana pheasant hunting with my 11 year old GSP. Montana deer hunt with my buddies. Improve on the 40 pounds I lost in 2024. And spend as much time as I can with the grandbabies.

Hunting: Kill a 4+ year old mule deer in Idaho and Utah, find my biggest deer shed to date (80”+), and find a 300”+ elk set. Get more comfortable with my bow, rifle and muzzleloader.

Physical: Workout consistently(big or small, just get it done), stick to an eating routine, and lose 15-20 lbs that stays off.

Relationship: Improve helping around the house and with the kids without being asked. Take my boy on some sort of an adventure every month, big or small.

Spiritual: Daily scripture study and morning and night prayers. Magnify my church callings and responsibilities. And look for opportunities to serve.

Life: Sell my house and get a new place on larger property that will require an addition or remodel to increase equity quickly and push me out of my comfort zone.

Business: Build another flat work crew to take care of more clients. Create a marketing platform (social media, blog, or just file to send) to show current and potential customers. Lay out the systems used in a concrete business so my foremen can succeed. Average closer to 15-20% margins.

What kind of an asshole has a wedding in the fall during any hunting season. I told my daughters and nieces if you want me to show up. Have it in the Summer.

Stop being a fat kid - but my track record dictates that’s probably not happening.

I’m not a goal person - never had the patience for them.

I know….few people in our families hunt so it won’t be too an issue. Once my mom backed my fiancé on the issue I knew I wasn’t getting my way.

The compromise was last week of September as I’m not an archery elk hunter, and when I do occasionally archery hunt I prefer early season.

Continue my Mtn Tough journey I'm pretty excited my son has jumped on board too.. Hunt Mt. Goats in BC in October hopefully the second time is the charm. Hopefully draw Coues Deer in AZ in December. I also want to hunt here in Idaho alot more. And last but not least continue to forge friendships in Idaho I have met a few pretty good dudes on Rokslide and hope to meet more!!!

I am married to a non-hunter, just remember to fight for your right to party early and often.

We got married later in life, and both of of us came to the marriage with our own money. This has saved my ass more than anything else.

I am getting away with an almost criminal amount of hunting in 2025.
