Here is the description from the go fund me post. I'll post the link in the comments.

"A few days ago, Luis was doing what he loves most—shooting his bow at an archery event—when something unimaginable happened. He was accidentally shot in the head with an arrow. It went through his temple and exited near his eye. He was airlifted to the hospital and rushed into surgery. Miraculously, Luis is alive. But the road ahead is long and uncertain.

Right now, we don’t know the full extent of the damage to his vision. He’s in an enormous amount of pain. We’re in contact with his wife, Jessica, who is by his side and doing everything she can to keep things together for him and their girls."

I don't know the guy personally and I'm not necessarily posting to have you guys donate but I figured quoting the go fund me and putting the link gives you the option and keeps the story straight. Either way, crazy incident and this could have happened to any of us at any time whether we do something wrong at a 3d shoot or someone else does something wrong. You don't really think about the stuff until it unfortunately happens to someone.

Have shot at a many of archery shoots. Its not uncommon to see someone who should know better doing something unsafe or in most cases a inexperienced youngster not being properly supervised. People thing its just bows and stick with field tips. But they can kill you just as quick

Damn. Easy to forget when you shoot alot, but flinging sharp projectiles at several hundred fps and you might as well be shooting a gun. I recently heard someone say that bows can often be more dangerous than guns to spectators due to the casual attitude at many ranges / shooting sessions. Plus, an arrow is what took down Cpt. Augustus Mcrae in the end....

Dang. I hope he recovers.

I stopped going to shoots because of “tickers” out through the woods from guys.

Any updates on the fella?

Haven’t been able to find any.

We are having a big 3D shoot today [Briones Archers in the SF Bay Area] and our range now has a laminated sign on every targets bow hanger.

Every Tourney I've ever been to has a shooter safety meeting....the guys that walked away from their group member just plain screwed up. It wouldn't surprise me in this litigious day and age if the guy sues them.
