Peija - pronounced Pee-Jah
Tried to be as original as possible - grandmothers maiden name but spelled slightly differently

I had my first on Aug 9

We started with a 32 name bracket and did a tournament style face off, with some saves and some double eliminations, putting the top 3 on fridge to let it marinate for a couple of months.

I wanted something with a euro flair and a little exotic, my wife wanted names hardly ever used or completely foreign. As someone who has to spell out their last name 5x a week, I said no to anything with weird spelling that people would butcher.

She had her heart set on Inara, which is the name of the 'concubine' on the Firefly tv show....name my daughter after a tv prostitute? nope.

So we compromised, I got Maya for a first name (had to change from Maja) and she got Enara for the middle name...Enara being the Basque word for swallow, the bird. It worked out because now I don't have to cross that bridge for the next kid.

I had Maya as a top. One of my friends beat us to it! Strong child! She was born at weeks 1lb 12 oz and just went home a few weeks ago 174 days old weighing just over 11lbs.

Our first is due in a few weeks. My wife and I are leaning heavily towards the name Autumn. Before that we were thinking about calling her Sage. You’ll have a better idea when you meet her. Congrats I hope your family is doing well.

I like older names. Our first is Lillian (also a tributary to a big nearby river and ridge).

Second is a boy, Edison Dersu-Thunderbeast Clark. Basically a nod to Thomas Edison and Dersu Uzala.
