Yeah I don't think anyone is really mad per say but communication goes a long way, we all are excited to get our coolers. This thread starts out very early on with Atlas telling GotDraw that the coolers have been shipping and now they tell him all coolers were put on an order and are stuck in customs. Maybe it was a misunderstanding, maybe someone misspoke but actual accurate updates and good honest communication are what make good companies vs crappy.

When we started the group buy RTIC was brought up and Atlas didn't want to be another situation like that, they had plenty of coolers instock and received shipments weekly if not daily.

So of course we all got a little confused when we are told there is plenty of on hand inventory, then that coolers are shipping and now that all coolers are stuck in customs. Then add that Atlas doesn't answer emails and you get people wondering what's going on. We get their business model etc but maybe they should of hired temp help to cover what seems to have turned into a very large bulk order.

Thanks again for setting this up GotDraw and hopefully they get in people's hands in a few weeks, we all are looking forward to getting ours.

Anyone else checked their order recently? We were just discussing meal planning for our back-to-back Az and WY elk hunts in September so I thought I would go check the cooler order. My order status now reads that my coolers will not be shipped until LATE AUGUST! I'm curious if anyone has actually received any items from Atlas? The first post in this thread said the first coolers would start shipping in early July so hopefully someone has received something. I fully expected these coolers not to ship until the end of July when I placed the order but now that it says end of August I'm starting to get a little concerned.

"We apologize but your order is still on backorder due to recent demand. Items are not scheduled to ship until late August. If you would like to cancel or modify your order please see FAQ and follow the steps."

Really late Aug is only 3 or 4 weeks away.

Same message on mine. I really wasn't expecting mine to ship mid/late July like they were originally saying but I was really hoping to have it for Sep.

I'm guessing they aren't sitting at customs as stated a few days ago huh?

Hard not to be frustrated. If I don't have it prior to September 1st that will be a real pisser. Yeah, no way they are sitting in customs for a month or two. Honesty is the best policy......at least in this case.

I wasn't even a part of this group buy but I've been following it as I placed a large order for their cups on June 24. And I was curious what others experiences would be.

I had emailed them about the backorder message on their website on June 24 since it didn't list a date. This was their exact email quote: "We are schedule to receive more on July 5th and will have enough stock to keep us full moving forward. "

Based on that info I placed 2 orders. When July 5th came and went I sent emails and fb messages and received replies on both and a phone call on July 7. Said they had received unexpected "big box" order and because they are contracted to fill that first it was pushing the date to July 21. I had ordered some twisted tumblers in the order with the backordered regular tumblers. He pulled those and shipped them. I received them and they are great.

Well July 21 has come and gone.
I sent fb messages and emails on July 22 and 24. I still have received no response. Yesterday I decided I was done and sent them email and fb message asking them to cancel my order. No response.

Today I see the new backorder message y'all copied above. It has instructions on how to cancel but when I log in, my orders don't show. I have to click the "where's my order" link and just put the order # in. But that doesn't give me option to cancel. So I'm stuck until they reply and handle it, or I'll have to file a claim with my credit card company I suppose.

If it really is delays beyond their control, fine. But no communication is getting very frustrating. Even if you have to pay someone to sit all night and answer emails and update your customers, you do it. At least that's how I handle my business. Just wanted to share my experience. I hope y'all receive your coolers soon.

If we don't start getting more solid info on what these guys are doing I am going to cancel my order. Paying upfront 2.5 months in advance and getting the run around is not gona fly. The idea that there gona sit in customs for a month is total bull shit. Sounds like these ****ers are robing peter to pay paul.

i don't like waiting like everyone else but I sort of figured this. It's a lot like massdrop. I bought something on md on 6/29 and am still waiting for delivery. Group buys just a while.

Amen Trial153. Unfortunately that is true all to often. I set up an order for my buddies and will likely catch a little flack over the delay myself. Everything is all good though. In a month from now I'm confident that we will have received the coolers and the current drama with the sale will quickly melt away when we think about the killer deal we got on them. Big thanks to Gotdraw? for setting this up. I appreciate you going out on a limb for us. I hope that you aren't catching much flak and if you are that you aren't taking it personally.

Like many others I was kind of irritated that the estimated ship dates weren't met. I have a hunt coming up the first week of Sep and I really don't expect my cooler to be here by then. I started looking around for another option and even called my cousin to see if he was happy with the Grizzly he bought last year. I had pretty much decided to cancel my Atlas order since I wouldn't have it in time.

I started looking around and came across a cooler shootout video on youtube by coolersonsale.com They had about a dozen different big brand coolers of all sizes. Long story short, after 5 days a Siberian cooler was one of the top performers. I never heard of them so I checked out their website. SURPRISE - - they look exactly like the Atlas. I compared the 40, 64/65, and 80/85 between the two brands. Granted, they are listed different sizes but I think it's a bunch of BS. The external and internal measurements are nearly identical. I believe the biggest variance I found was on the 40 which was a 1.25". Nearly every other measurement was about a 1/4" difference. Maybe someone measured or typed a spec wrong on the 40 - but nearly every other dimension would be considered well within spec for a consumer grade cooler. The weights were a bit different, but that's probably considered normal variance and/or a selling point.

At this point I'm pretty much convinced these are coming out of the same molds across the pond. After reading and watching the reviews done by coolersonsale.com I think we got a hell of a deal on these and they'll be worth the wait.

Had to do some digging, Siberian 64qrt price on their site is 329.00 while our price on the Atlas 65 was 150.00 :) They are very similar.

Agree we got a heck of a deal, the wait is just a bummer but I expected it too to be honest.

Ya, I knew the second I saw them they were coming off the exact same line from the same Chinese plant that a few other brands of coolers come from. They have that super generic look to them. But the price was decent and the coolers were promised to be in stock instead of a long wait so why not? Looked too good to be true.. And was :(

While I'm disappointed I don't have my cooler yet and will take some flak from the guys that went in on the order with me I don't fully understand why some guys are so upset. In the end I knew it was a group buy I'd have to wait for, but the savings was and still is worth the wait to me. This is a product I plan on using for many, many years into the future so what's a month or two more waiting. I have full confidence they will come and will be worth the wait. If I had simply purchased them from the website without the group buy discount or knowing it would be a while I'd be pissed that they are delayed but as it's a group buy I think delays are to be expected. Until they arrive I'll keep using the crappy igloo I have used for the last 5 years. If this drags into October I'll be singing a different tune but if I can get my coolers in September I'll be happy.

Its pretty simple to me. If you don't want to wait and are upset, then cancel the order.

I still don't see where people are acting all upset? Do people like communication and honesty? I think to point this stuff out is just talking and some feel people should not discuss what could improve this process and just suck it up as they are getting a good deal.

Here is my question to you? If your cooler breaks a month after you receive it and they don't communicate or work with you then I would expect for you not to complain as you got a really good deal. If you still haven't heard anything after a month and a half of your initial email no worries, they'll get to you when they can.

The lack of communication is a sure sign that if there are any issues you shouldn't expect much from their customer service, heck if they can't handle a group buy and their bulk orders then how will they ever handle normal business and customer warranty issues once their product is in the market.

I think it is valid to have concerns and is not so much a bunch of upset people as it is people just wanting to know what's going on and why do the stories keep changing.

We all took a risk supporting an unknown company with an unknown product, they are not currently what I would call a standout as a company and that kind of shocks me with how many different companies are in their business if they really want to succeed. If they can't handle direct sales and wholesale sales they need to pick one business model and make it work. So no people are not angry I don't think but when people spend hundreds of $$$$ they would like a little honest communication.

Truthfully if they gave an honest update I could careless when it comes as long as it is this year.

You make a good point about the communication, especially as it relates to warranty work. I guess I look at a cooler and don't see how much could break or go wrong so it's not high on my list of things to worry about but regardless the lack of communication isn't good business practice.
