Is anyone else going broke because of deals "you just can't pass up?"

Hey we can form kind of a support group, just buy stuff around in circles from eachother to scratch the itch.

I've literally bought the same item back after selling it previously, multiple times. I bought a Credo here, used it for a season, sold it, and a week later bought a different Credo same exact scope. I think I'm gonna click on Reburn's link, lol for real. I don't have bounced checks or unpaid bills, but still kind of ashamed of myself sometimes.

Before you do that I have some things for sale you might want to check out. They are smokin deals.

I owned a nice white 1990 Chevy Sport 1500 a whopping seven times ;)

"The deal was so good I couldn't afford not to buy it!"
...quote from an acquaintance, heard multiple times in regard to his auto purchases...

I spend a lot of $ on guns, gun parts, optics, reloading supplies, and hunting gear. It's very rare for any of it to be a "need". I enjoy hunting, shooting, and trying new equipment/gear. I like to use something to evaluate it and weight the pro/con's. I've never spent into trouble and I'm fiscally aware. I really don't spend $ on much of anything else...just hunting and shooting.

I used to sell something if I bought something. Eventually I got tired of the hassle of listing/dealing with some people/selling/shipping. When I do list something here I usually offer the item back to the original seller for the price I paid to see if they would like it back. If they don't, then I usually list it for the same price + shipping or estimated shipping. This isn't my job and I'm not looking to make $ on it...I have no problem with anyone else doing that but it's not my desire. If I got a great deal on something, got to use/evaluate it, then I want it to be a deal for the next guy. On most things I sell I lose a little $. If I lose a little $ on something that I used for a year or two, I'm not worried about that. I want to sell things at a good deal for the buyer so they can enjoy it and put it to use.

I have reached a point where I want to downsize a little. It's not a "need" financially, it's just a desire to let things I'm not using go. I hope whoever purchases the things I sell enjoys the heck out of them.

Is a bergara mg lite for $2200 too good to not buy? Only 8 shots on it.

We all like to joke about buying more gun stuff, but if you are buying guns on credit cards you can’t pay off, you have a serious problem. That is a legitimate spending addiction, and just because we all like guns too does not make it ok.

Guns are a poor-to-mediocre investment. As someone who inherited 60+ guns, it’s genuinely a real pain in the ass, and tough to get the money extracted from the investment.

Try to spend more time truly enjoying the guns (shooting, hunting, etc) rather than the high of the buy. It wears off quick and leaves you looking for the next high.

15 of the 20 most recent posts are classified ads right now. People pitch a fit when the classifieds are removed from "what's new."

It's buying and consuming that keeps the lights on here. It's like a casino, you don't think they have all those lights on and drinks to serve out of charity, do you?

17k in gun and hunting debt isn't a drop in bucket compared to 35% overpayment for real estate and vehicles.
Well, especially when you factor in that the same people $17K in Gun and hunting debt ALSO have that jumbo truck loan with $1000+/month payments and houses they really can’t afford. House rich cash poor.

But $17k at 24% interest is not an insignificant debt. That will take most several years to pay off and that’s if they stop spending.
