Good stuff man. Taking mine in two weeks on a hunt. This is whats left of a 133 berger that went through a muley bucks shoulder at 600. 1980 fps impact velocity out of a 25 creed
Which bullet did you load up?Good stuff man. Taking mine in two weeks on a hunt.
135s for now. I have some 134s that I have not loaded and will be picking up some 133s as well.Which bullet did you load up?
Cool man. Looking forward to hearing your results. The 133 worked great for me yesterday so ill continue using them. I'm sure the 135 will do just as good.135s for now. I have some 134s that I have not loaded and will be picking up some 133s as well.
Yeah I did the same. My 257roberts AI will be running the 134s. I ran the 140 elite hunters in my 260 and it’s a great bullet design. I have full confidence in the 133s as well.Cool man. I've got a boat load of 134's too but the bergers just shoot Fantastic and its hard to mess with a good thing...I need to dedicate a build to the 134"s so I have an excuse to shoot em
I have not personally but I know a few people that have and they perform well.A friend of mine has a conventional twist 25-06 and wants to use it for elk. We tested sme different handloads and the Berger 115 shot well.
Has anyone used the 115 Berger VLD Hunting bullet on game?
Funny you say that. I’ve shot two deer with that bullet and was very underwhelmed. Silver lining is that both deer died and were recovered. Not sure what I expected but the way that people talk about accubonds I guess I expected something more??I shot this buck when I was just a lad with a pretty sweet 25/06 I had. 110 Accubond, horrendous bullet performance…
It’s been 12 years but I recall that first bullet hitting a shoulder at 120 yards and absolutely nuking before making it to the vitals, and the buck sprinting uphill. My Dad ended up finding the buck bedded in the timber and I killed him at like 20Funny you say that. I’ve shot two deer with that bullet and was very underwhelmed. I’ve shot a bunch of deer and several antelope with them. They’re going to give you about the best ballistic performance you can get in a 1-10 twist. Didn’t use them on my elk hunt but I have no doubt they would work just fine. I did use a 110 Tipped Game King, and it destroyed the vitals. It’s a little tougher bullet and I tend to get more exits than I do with the Bergers. Same goes for the 115 Nosler Ballistic Tip.A friend of mine has a conventional twist 25-06 and wants to use it for elk. We tested sme different handloads and the Berger 115 shot well.

How's the recoil on that rifle? I keep going back and forth on a 25-6.5PRC or a 25-7PRC. I want the velocity from the 7PRC but I also want manageable recoil so that I can spot my own shots.Just migrating some 25-7prc info over here from another thread so it is all in one big 25 thread
I had a 25-7prc done after talking to @T_Widdy about his. After finding my load we are within .oo5 of oal in the same chambers done at different times by the same guy.
I had mine done on a tikka t3 with a 22" mcgowan #4, helical fluted by kampfeld customs, then chambered and threaded by twisted barrels In Wyoming, this sits in a rokstock, now with a trijicon tenmile and running a thunderbeast ultra 7.
Using adg 7prc brass necked down by redding 7 prc s type bushing dies, hornady 134 eld m's, fed 215m, n570 I am settled and feal dialed at 3240fps using the hornady provided b.c.
Yesterday shot this from a tailgate while spotting for a friend.
Using the same can( tbac 7 ultra) I feel like the recoil is less than my 25" 260ai with 140's going 2835fps. As well as the sound to me seems less loud even with 25 ish more grains powder. How's the recoil on that rifle? I keep going back and forth on a 25-6.5PRC or a 25-7PRC. 120 fusion is another one to try if you can find any.Excellent feedback thank you.
I will pick up some 110 TGK to try.
The rifle hated 110ELDx, did okay with 110AB (could further develop them) but did well with the Bergers. I do feel a little paranoia using the bergers with so many claims of them penciling.
We have not tried the 115 BT or 117 SST, both of which are on the list to get.
Copy. I’ll keep an eye out. I was able to score some 117 SST and 110 TGK locally. Will load up with some Staball HD and give them a shot.120 fusion is another one to try if you can find any.
IMR 4831 and Retumbo are good choices too if available locally.Copy. I’ll keep an eye out. I was able to score some 117 SST and 110 TGK locally. Will load up with some Staball HD and give them a shot.
