3/5, 2 arrows to go. 50 yds. I’m calling the circle the goal,8” even though it’s prep for elk season. Days 1 and 3 stiff breezes.

Day 4 in the rain, Frogg Toggs were the uniform of the day. Probably an 8-10 mph breeze. I hunt in the rain so I better practice in it. I duplicated one photo and can't seem to remove it, so no, I'm not at day 5 yet.

Day 5. Finished! Interesting challenge but some days, your first arrow is a 50 yd shot at a trophy. But what do I know? My only bowkill over 35 yds was a 50 yard grouse years ago. The big hunt this year is for a trophy bull elk so 8" is much smaller than I need, but then again, I'm also hunting hogs in Oklahoma again.

I'm doing a guided hunt this year. The outfitter says the bulls called in tend to stop with tree between you and them, and if the kill zone is in a small window, you should be shooting. So, that's the thought process behind the 8" window for elk as the normal kill zone for a bull is the size of a trash can lid.

2914 Obsession Evolution, 60 lbs, 26.5” draw. Field points as the range doesn’t allow broadheads. Spot Hogg Fast Eddie xl. Gold Tip Kinetic 400s...Hamskea Hybrid rest. Shot at the Highlands Ranch range.

Day 3 72 Degrees light breeze. Kept it in the 8 ring. Barely. Shot felt good but I never had a hard focus on the spot I wanted to hit.

Thanks all for putting this on. I'm fairly new to the forum, and relatively new to bowhunting, and already learning a lot from all the great folks here. I’m going for 40 yards as my MER, shooting a Bowtech Fuel with Easton Bloodline arrows and a Muzzy broadhead. Using the large yellow center circle as rough approximation for a mule deer’s vital zone, it’s about 6 1/2 inches across.

Day 1. Sunny, 80 degrees, light wind about 5 mph from my right.

Day 2. Shot yesterday, just posted a day late. Still sunny, 62 degrees. Gusty winds from my left, and I think I let that cause me to rush the shot and pulled it high. I guess that sort of learning moment is exactly why I’m doing this.

Day 3. Overcast, 57 degrees, wind 7mph from my right. Just managed to keep it inside the circle.81C146F7-176B-4A56-8C16-67C4C653AD59.jpeg

Day 4. 52 degrees, 5mph wind. Still a bit too high...

Day 5. 55 degrees, sunny, 7mph wind. After hitting higher than I’d like three of the last four days, I held under the target and did better, so I think a pin adjustment may be in order now that the challenge is done and I can do some more shooting to verify.

Another big thanks for putting this on, it was an interesting challenge and a welcome chance to learn. And since I hadn’t planned on doing much archery hunting this year, it got me shooting the bow again, which is never a bad thing!

You all ready for this? This is the fun part for me and the staff. We love to give away great gear from Rokslide's very generous sponsors. Even if you don't win, support these sponsors as they stepped up with $thousands in gear to support the cause of making better bowhunters!

@Travis Bertrand drew for the winners.

The way I'm going to do it, is post the prizes valued under about $350 today and get that slew of emails out of the way, then post the bigger prizes between tomorrow and Monday.

First, if you don't want your prize, you can either...

1) Give it to a friend
2) Let the alternate shown next to your name take it.

I can't be the go-between on trading prizes! I just need to know who we're shipping to, so just send me the email when you have a final decision.

You can PM your alternate by using the search in upper right corner, 2nd text box in the drop-down (in full-site) then typing the screenname. I won't contact the alternate unless you don't claim your prize.

To claim your prize, email me at [email protected] by May 26th or prize goes to your alternate

OK, winners of the first batch <$350 all stepped up to claim except two. I even gave them an extra day. I hit the alternates for the Tyto and the Black Ovis $150, so check your PMs boys.

Some of the >$350 winners haven't stepped up yet, specifically the SKRE & YETI winners. If they don't step up by 6/2, I'll pull those alternates!

Always always subscribe to threads where we award prizes. I've posted winners in three different threads, I don't know what else to do to reach these guys.

Thanks all
