I am a believer in lifting heavy weights to prepare for the mountain in the fall.
I set goals at the beginning of each year for the major lifts (deadlift, bench, and squat) and try to accomplish them before June 1.
I lift one body part a day (chest, shoulders, arms, back) and legs twice a...
I had similar issues with my arrows last season. I found it was the glue I was using. When the glue bonded to the carbon it made them brittle.
Not sure what glue you are using, but that could be something to look at.
PMcGee- thanks for the reply. Thats what i was thinking but was looking for some reassurance.
I am looking to use the trick pin system mentioned by Darrin Cooper and am hoping to set my "zero" at 50 yds, and use that for anything under 50. Then use the slider for the longer distances of 50+
Hey guys, I have a question regarding the setup of a single pin slider sight to maximize the travel of the dial and essentially allow me to shoot longer distances.
Aside from the standard limitations like arrow weight, draw weight, FPS, etc... does mounting the sight housing at the very top...
I didn't hunt with them but I shot them a lot before the season.
They flew great and grouped well. I already had a dozen Exodus heads and decided to use them instead of buying more BH's.
I wouldn't hesitate to use them. They are a great little head and wicked sharp.
I switched from Hoyt to Elite and haven't looked back. Shooting the bows side by side will change your opinion on the Hoyt. Just a differet feel that I really liked.
I love the flat colored bows... OD green, matte black (color of my bow), and the desert sand khaki color.
I like the offsetting black limb pockets, cams, and limbsavers.
Ever thought about cerakote for the riser?
I have one of each and found this to be my favorite setup. I have a single pin slider set up with the Trick Pin and really like it. It took some getting use to, but it has grown on me.
I didnt use it this August because I wasnt as confident with it as I would have liked, so I stuck with my 5...
At most it will only take one point to draw a rifle Ruby's tag as a nonresident.
If you put in next year, I would plan on hunting. It is unfortunate that they give away so many tags for that area, but it almost guarantees that you will draw. This was my first year hunting it since my move from...
Thats a sweet deal...
So as long as you hunt on either side of the divide you can have two tags. To me it makes more sense to just buy the two tags, then you have the statewide tag anyways, correct? Or does the statewide tag cover more than the east and west side?
This is the ticket... wipe the shaft down with some alcohol and use the blue gel control bottle. I have never had a problem getting any fletching to stick. Plus it can be bought locally so you dont have to wait for shipping.
I like the Falken Rocky Mountain ATS... they were a great tire for me and lasted forever. I put 40K on them and they were in awesome shape with lots of tread when I sold the truck. I dont have them on my new truck, but when it comes times to replace the tires, this is what I will go with...
You arent coming to the dark side, you are coming to the right side! Not many hunters switch to archery, then switch back.
Nothing wrong with buying a used bow... just buy it from somewhere like archerytalk, where you can read feedback on the seller.
Another thing to consider, is year end...
I have a blacked out Elite Hunter. Going with the all flat black adds about 50 FPS to my 500 grain arrow, If you are looking for more speed and kinetic energy, make sure to get black.
Just kidding. I believe color choice is purely preferance. As long as you don't have shiny stainless steel...
