Curious in your guys preference and why in blackout vs camo bows?

I am constantly drawn to the blacked out models (look sweet to me), but I currently shoot a camo bow. It seems to me black would get beat up pretty good cosmetically in the field. Any truth to my thought for those if you who shoot non camo bows? Or is it basically a total preference thing?

With Hoyts, the blackout risers seem to chip easier than the camo. When it does it stands out more so than the camo as it is white underneath. When I shot a black out, I would use a black permanent pen to touch it up. This was also on a carbon Hoyt only. The non carbon risers hold up better in the blackout.

i love how that Recluse bow can be built in OD. super cool looking with OD, or tan riser and camo limbs.

my next bow will be full camo, again.

I have a blacked out Elite Hunter. Going with the all flat black adds about 50 FPS to my 500 grain arrow, If you are looking for more speed and kinetic energy, make sure to get black.

Just kidding. I believe color choice is purely preferance. As long as you don't have shiny stainless steel accessories reflecting sunlight and a high gloss custom blue and pink zebra stripe bow, the deer aren't gonna care. Heck if you did it right, the deer shouldn't even know your there when making a sneak, so the color of bow doesn't matter.

Black isn't a natural earth tone unless its night, you are Rambo or you are in a burned area. I had a black Element. I hated it being black with everything I own being camo. It chipped and I replaced it with a Spyder Turbo, camo.

I have owned several different bows with a black riser. The only thing I don't like about them is if you hunt hard and a lot the black finish just doesn't seem to hold up quit as well as a camo finish. It also shows the wear and marks a lot worse than a camo bow.

I never been spotted by and animal because I didn't have a camo bow. I don't believe the color of the bow makes on bit of difference.

I'm mixing things up again this year! I am going to go with a blackout bow. Tear it apart and send the riser to Mark Jarrett of BeastMode Hydrographics to dip the riser and then while its in pieces I am going to spray paint the rest of the parts with Krylon to reduce glare and shine. I'll finish off with a camo dipped riser and black limbs with a custom spray paint job :)

rhendrix,

I'm on a camo riser black limb kick :) The black riser/camo limb seems overwhelmed to me. I had one in 09 on my AM 35, blackout on 10 matrix and been all camo until this year.

I do like an all camo bow but am am kinda into the same set up as Evan. the camo riser and black limbs. I am working on a new bow right now and think that it is going to be a black one then send it off to get colorfusioned in highlander, the riser at the very minimum.
