Only buy hunting gear used or new, that has good resale on Rokslide. I didn’t really learn that on here but have just observed that recently, by seeing the stuff that doesn’t sell and or sells in minutes.
For sure.
Another tactic is to buy stuff off Kuiu outlet and re-sell it at regular price.
Or if you get pro pricing on optics, you list them for sale used for $300-$400 more than you paid new… but don’t EVER comment on the price being high 🤣. EVER!

That there is only one person in this entire world that could truly win Alone. Everyone else are just a bunch of posers.

That people do steal other peoples deer under the cover of night.

That there are some quality meme makers in our ranks.

That hunting out of state is doable.

Set your drop chart as the lock screen on your phone. All you have to do is hit the side button and bingo, data right in front of you.
Not sure who I learned that from but it was definitely from this site.
Dooooooode, how have I missed that all these years on Here? That’s awesome thanks for mentioning it

I was trying to determine if I should get a 6.5 prc and get away from my 30-06, during internet travels multiple times discussions popped up on Rokslide. Now, I have a new 6.5 prc, trijicon scope, and navigated my bipod setup, and am a F…ing New Guy on rokslide. Thanks for all the great info.

My biggest takeaway is heavy stiff soled boots suck for hunting.

Heck, i was on the path to destroying my feet, chronic matatarsalagia, morton’s neuroma, you name it. The light bulb didn’t go off that it could be these stupid boots we all think we need until i searched my symptoms here to only find others have experienced the same. I was not alone! Heck, i was actually searching for different stiff soled heavy boots to replace my current stiff soled heavy boots to fix the problems i was having. Talk about moronic!

Threw the Crispis in the trash and moved on. Man, cured my feet in only a few months of hunting/hiking WITHOUT stiff heavy boots, never again! Light and flexible for the rest of my hunting days.

1. Gained at least 5 years on the front end of hunting with my sons by reading the 223 thread
2. The importance of a good pack, and what packs are actually good.
3. Greatly improved my shooting effectiveness by focusing on set ups that maintain zero, and shooting large quantities of identical ammo rather than screwing around with constant load development.

To Get off the forum and just go. ( respectful tone)
Most gear works once i find critters.

I mostly use the search function here.
for me there gets to be a point of diminishing return with the great info available here. There is adventure in your own state or across the country . don’t wait on buddies, share your plans with them , be prepared to go solo or you risk missing years of adventure.

Also
No debt for depreciating “stuff”.
Max out your 401k to match, your HSA to limit, Roth IRA to limit , 401k to limit , after tax , then set up a reg. Taxable brokerage acct.
Only then should ye buy $200 mens yoga pants
