Two days chasing mule deer, saw some 50+ deer- but nothing in the age class I'm looking for. The rut is only a week or so out, so that should change :)

23 miles and 3400' of gain (lugging a 30-ish # pack)

this afternoon 5 miles (900') w/ my youngest daughter and Tiny Elvis
 
I hiked a little over 11 miles this weekend, about five chasing an elusive flock of fall turkeys. The whitetail rut is heating up here in PA, but it seems that the older I get the harder it is for me to park my rear end and wait on a buck.

Walked the rifle for 10 miles and 3100'. I'm beat down just a wee bit- had to negotiate a lot of blowdown, lots of side-hilling and several steep climbs. Came nose to nose with a spike bull and had about a 10 second standoff before he whirled around :D

*side note: if spikes were legal in this district, I'd be packing meat out :)
