What did you do at the range today?

The Federal Blue Box load shot about like I expected. 2650 FPS, SD of 16.

The Norma 140-grain loads were decent too. 2572 FPS, SD of 22.5

The Nosler 140-grain Ballustic tips looked like the load until shot #4 (marked as 10 below) blew up the group. 2644 FPS, SD of 26.6. Shot #4 was approximately 53 FPS faster than the average for the rest of this group.

I wanted to see if that “flyer” was on me, so I shot the rest of the box. 2656 FPS, SD of 17.6.

The wind was fierce and ripped the 143-grain ELDX target off the backer before I could go downrange. But it wasn’t spectacular.

The 147-grain ELDM target wasn’t worth recording. Neither of my 6.5 CMs has shot that load worth anything.

Went out to sight in my 7x57 Husqvarna after adding three new variables to the system: switched out a credo 3-9 for a SWFA 3-9, changed the Omega 300 for an OG, and a batch of 150 eldx handloads since the prior load of 120 TTSX never did better than 2 MOA on the best days. All credit to rokslide for this. The scope and suppressor were bought used here for good prices, and the handloads were put together using Form's painless load development method. Life gets easier when you keep things simple.

Did some load development for my 6mm arc with Varget, lever, some 108 ELDMs, 105 hybrids, alpha brass, and CCI 450s. Loads ranging from 2587 fps through 2815 fps. Found some winners for sure.

Stopped at another range to check velocity on some 44's. 240's @1200 through a 4-5/8" ruger and @ 1060 through a 2.75" S&W. Plenty enough juice for my needs. Still trying to find grips for that bisley that work for me.

Then ran around and worked on my offhand shooting  Pretty decent day. Right outta the gate I smacked that rat with the 45 at around 30yrds. Got me cocky enough I couldnt hit shit with that gun after that :ROFLMAO:

Those Ruger Bisleys are pretty appealing...

So that was a super blackhawk. Bisley grip frame, trigger, and hammer off midway IIRC. Couple evenings drinking beer and holding a file and it was done. First an probly the only time I have been happy I had stainless as you can carve on it all you want and it still looks the same..

Honestly though. For my needs. That model 69 is my favorite of the two. I really do think the 4" m69 might be the perfect revolver. Its on my list :ROFLMAO:

That's awesome, wasn't aware you could get swapable frames/hammers, etc.

Just saw this Model 69 come up for sale yesterday, I think. Definitely cool guns:

At the time a 4-5/8" bisley 44 wasnt all that easy to find. Think I was $150? Into parts. The grip frame was a lot wider, so there was a bit to take down. Wasnt a big deal though. Trigger an hammer dropped in.

Pretty sure this was the frame

That would be the perfect 44, unless one wanted to run T-Rex loads. I love my shortie, its accurate and easier in hand than you would think. But that 4" gun would be the tits.

I have needed to locktite most the screws on my 69 btw. Side plate, main spring, ejector rod..you name it, its rattled loose. Still a badass lil cannon though. I've a pile more rounds down the barrel than I have that ruger.

Had the mounting screws shear on my pic rail today and caught an NXS with my face.View attachment 1037208View attachment 1037209
Also found a pretty good group for my daughter's 243.

Yikes! I had that happen once as well. You might want to look into a pic rail with a lug to prevent that from happening (even with larger screws).
