Man, this is too bad. I really liked their stuff and have bought 3 shelters. I won’t be buying anything else from them.

I stopped listening to their podcast a few years ago because I couldn’t stand to hear Kevin talk. Now it makes sense.

I disagree. Right is right, and wrong is wrong. In this case he was right.

This thread has been very good in the regard our members have been civil, and mostly kept things accurate and without too much speculation.
For the record of you have not listened to it you have SPECULATED what is in there and only by luck can be accurate in your ASSUMPTION.

I also fall into the lazy category of not listening (why give Busse the effort) but also realize the irony of just jumping on the band wagon as it rolls by.

Ones an incident, two is a coincidence, three’s a pattern.

I’d already noticed a pattern when I saw Busse’s name on their podcast.

I admitted that I probably should’ve listened first. But again, the title of the thread was “Why is SO giving air time to a gun control advocate?”

It was a question, not necessarily an outright condemnation.

SO gave themselves very little room for a reasonable explanation, and that was their own doing.

I wouldnt categorize getting information from like minded people a 'Bandwagon'.

I mean, this isnt exactly Mainstream Media

I have not read every post on this thread, but I can assure anyone who thinks Kevin hates hunters has not met him.

When I talked to him at expo two weeks ago, he just got back from a weeklong bird hunt. And yes, he took a gun.

He’s a long time advertiser on this site and has gone out of his way to connect with members on here. Not sure if he’s going to chime in on this thread but I want to make sure he doesn’t get painted as “hating hunters”.

But some of the things he has posted on his social media that others screen shot and posted really gives you a good glimpse of the guy. He might be nice but I guarantee most of us don’t align with him.

Outrage over a conversation. Think about that for a minute. Maybe some self introspection might be in order regardless of your views on the topic.
I’m not outraged, nor would I call anyone in this thread outraged.

Busse and Timm are more than welcome to hold their views. A lot of us posting in this thread have made sacrifices so they can have whatever opinions they hold.

But if they are going to try to use their name and influence opinions that I disagree with and find harmful to the rights that I hold dear and to hunters in general, I’d like to take my business elsewhere.

That’s not outrage.

ETA Let me clarify, I don’t believe Timm or Busse are “anti hunter.” That said I do believe any push for gun control is likely to be harmful to the hunting community in the long run, and I do believe that those that they support politically are harmful to hunter based conservation.

so would he congratulate or curse me? I have killed 2 elk with a .308 AR.

He sure looks like he agrees with Busse on gun control.

Robby - Kevin’s own behavior and posts don’t reflect what you are saying here. I hope you are right, buts lots and lots of evidence to the contrary. He may be a hunter on the surface but he comes across as anti 2A. I would love to hear Kevin defend himself.

I’d really like to hear a response on this. From Kevin. I don’t need to know his politics. I already have a good idea what they are. Besides, the issue is why they’d give such an opposition of the 2A, a platform. And, in the format he was given.

It’s important to me and I wish this thread would have been in early November.

I’d be curious of a couple things…

1. Is there anything Kevin could say to make you feel comfortable supporting SO?

2. If he isn’t a fervent supporter of all aspects of the 2A is there a way in which you’d still support SO?

3. If given the chance to ask Kevin a question, what would it be?
