Teachers on the 14th, kids on the 16th in my district.
Same timeframe for us, and we live in a deep blue state. After Labor Day as it should be. We live in a highly Conservative small town though who collectively still believes in parents raising their kids and the importance of family.

"Kids, I am not sure when school starts but its got to be close. Get up and be ready for the bus. If it doesnt show up by 9, come back home."Don't know.
But the busses haven't started yet, so not today.
Looks like Wednesday.
Incorrect, all things in education are driven by red or blue. But thats a different thread. The number of school days in a year is fixed, although each states vary by a few days. They can push the start dates around, and that is usually voted on by the district. Has nothing to do with red or blue.
The majority of states use the 180 day academic calendar. Both red and blue. Starting earlier or later on the calendar and still using 180 days a year doesn't mean one values family more or less.Incorrect, all things in education are driven by red or blue. But thats a different thread.
WI has no such required minimum number of days, so now you know. I couldnt care less what you all are doing in California. The majority of states use the 180 day academic calendar. Both red and blue. Google says that WI has a minimum number of hours, which equals out to a similar number of days as CA (180) Just because schools shuffled the start date doesn't mean that students are spending less or more time in the class room.WI has no such required minimum number of days, so now you know. Last ill say on this, WI does NOT have a minimum number of days kids need to be in school, period.Google says that WI has a minimum number of hours, which equals out to a similar number of days as CA (180) Just because schools shuffled the start date doesn't mean that students are spending less or more time in the class room.
Man, I’ve seen people cutting cotton into December and prepping in February.School used to be dictated by farming. Now most are city kids . I think it was better before.
