Have you won a hunt raffle?

Like many of you, my inbox gets hit at a pretty steady cadence of raffles & giveaways every year. I would estimate i put in a 300-500 dollars each year, mostly for trips and tags, occasionally for items.

I never have won, and this thread isn't intended to be speculation as to the reasons why. Just curious who on here has won, And what did you win? How was the experience if it was a hunt?

I had a couple of friends that were working for Columbia Helicopter. They were fogged in one day and the ship wasn't flying, so they were hanging out in their camper and filled out a flyer from an Outdoor Life magazine and won an elk hunting trip in Colorado.
I'm with you, I haven't won squat! :ROFLMAO:

Yes. I mostly buy tickets for conservation organizations and always plan on it just being a donation. I do occasionally buy raffle tickets from Epic, but never Huntin Fool.

Just reported on the raffle hunt I won at the WSF Sheep Show here:

Hunt Recap

I donate pretty often but never have won a hunt. I did win a pair of NL 12x42s from the Arizona Antelope Foundation. $20 ticket, 1:300 odds. Still waiting on the hunt wins to start stacking up.

Why epic but not Huntin Fool? Wife’s uncle won a sheep hunt through a HF membership drawing years back and had a great experience.

I am not a member but most of their raffles appear open to anyone and I’d considered applying occasionally.

Have to draw the line somewhere. And I followed Jason and Adam FROM Huntin Fool and I’m a pretty loyal guy.

I did win a Swarovski package from the Rocky mountain Elk Foundation back in the early 90's. That is it , nothing since. I do know a bunch of guys who go to the banquets and win stuff, but they spend a ton on tickets. I joke with them about it $500 rifle for $500 dollars in tickets. All good it goes to good conservation.

I use a very similar approach - but mainly conservation orgs; though, I also do my home state raffle tags but never more than one of each species or hunt on those. I was a non-player for years [decades] but playing the conservation org side was money I was able and going to donate regardless, it just shifts around the recipient.

So to answer: Yes. Mule deer access hunt. Spectacular experience.

I had a close call with winning a 7 day African hunt.
My name has an "s" on the end but the real winner did not.
That still cuts deeper than it should lol .
RMEF gets a few bucks since I volunteer for them. 3 different firearms but never won a hunt.

I buy quite a few raffle tickets every year, but so far I haven't won any of them. My good friend won a Dall hunt through Huntin Fool and two years later he won a stone hunt at Sheep Camp in Salt Lake.

No hunts won. I did win a suppressor recently though, which was cool but also kinda a bummer to stack up a $300 bill for FFL transfer and tax stamp to collect my prize. Still a deal at the end of the day though on a $900-1000 can.

If it wasn't for bad luck I wouldn't have any luck at all. I don't put in for raffles but do make a yearly donation in the form of elk tag lottery that I haven't drawn

Or the tax implications......

I think though, if I were to win a big sheep hunt or such, it'd still be a bargain; but that could be a big hit for the yearly budget!

Me not a damn thing. My brother and nephew can seem to not win. Actually my brother is gone now, I think he wished he good luck on my nephew. Rifles, shotguns, handguns, wild life paintings. You name it he's won it.

I purchased a single raffle ticket from the Wyoming Wildlife Federation in 2020 after seeing a post about their fundraising effort on RS. I won a Wyoming Commissioners tag. I chose to hunt elk and killed a nice 7x7. You can't win if you don't buy a ticket.

I’ve won a shotgun and a bow and some various other things but never a hunt
