Must see/things to do in Seattle?

  • Ballard Locks (probably just me, but one of my favorite places in Seattle)
  • Fremont
  • Green Lake
  • Golden Gardens Park
  • Discovery Park
  • Ferry to Bainbridge or other

Food
  • Dahlia Bakery (by the Westin)
  • Canlis
  • Pink Door
  • Matts in the Market
  • The Walrus and the Carpenter
  • Palace Kitchen (It's been awhile since I've been)
Great list.

Would also add to the "Food" list...... Biscuit Bitch for killer breakfast, Top Pots for the best Old Fashioned donuts, and Sushi Kashiba for killer sushi. Will also second the recommendation for Pink Door, great dinner spot.

Museum of Flight for sure. The boat museum is cool as well.

The fish market was a 10 minute walk/run through for me, pretty much a tourist knick knack place other than the fish stall when you first walk in.

Agree with others that the Museum of Flight is worth the Uber ride. If you go to Space Needle, MoPOP is co-located and has some cool exhibits if you're into music and movies. If you hit Pike Place/the waterfront, Ye Olde Curiosity Shop is a little tourist trap store that has some neat circus sideshow type taxidermy, embalmed animals and shrunken heads. Worth popping in just to look around. The flagship REI isn't too far from where you're staying and is another one that's fun to just walk around.

Museum of flight for sure. We used to get free access when we worked for Boeing. If you want have a heart attack, go stroll through the Filson store on 1st avenue and look at the prices. Edited to add, there's a really great hunting/fishing sporting goods store right next to Filson called Outdoor Emporium if you're in need of something.

Biscuit Bitch is awesome!

The flagship Filson store is cool, they have some bags sold only there, and you can see the repair shop.

In the pike market place there’s a restaraunt called the Athenian. Don’t eat there. It’s over priced and not very good.

On their drink menu though they have a drink called the “Mt. Rainer”. It’s super good, it’s just a glass of whiskey with like 4 shots in it and an ice cold 24oz can of Rainer beer. It’s not so much of a drink as it is a beer and a shot.

That clam chowder place is definetly not worth the wait in line, that was a serious disappointment after standing in line for over an hour.

Starbucks will let the nastiest smelliest buns you’ve ever seen cut the line to get cups of ice water.

Strange place really.

Take in a Mariners game if you can. Stadium is pretty neat to see. Just bring your gold card......

Was out there for a conference a couple years ago. Pretty impressive row of car hood weed vendors outside the market if you are into that sorta thing. Might not be as dangerous as Memphis but every bit the sh!thole. I would vacation in Albuquerque on purpose before I would ever go back to Seattle.

You haven’t been to Seattle unless you go to the Vu. Probably should do that when your wife is at her conference though.

Well I Googled that half expecting to find some Reddit thread with the insider knowledge I'd need to understand what you were talking about, and all I came up with was Vue Lounge night club which doesn't really look like my type of hang.

I assume he is referring to the Deja Vu strip club.

Is there a "You are now leaving Seattle" sign you can see - that'd likely by high on my list!?! :ROFLMAO:
All jokes aside, the Pacific NW up there is a place I would like to visit someday.

family had to stay in Seattle over night a few years back before boarding for an Alaskan cruise. Went the fish market, some coffee shops, basic tourist stuff. Hands down dirtest, nasty city I’ve even been in. I thought Philly and nyc were gross, but the amount of drugs and homeless people was mind bogging.

Enough for me to know to keep my butt in the south where I belong, yall can have that west coast stuff!

Din Tai Fung is really good, U village and one in Bellevue. Poo Poo point is a fun hike if you want to get some cardio in.

Yeah it was particularly bad a few years ago. I was greeted by a naked druggy jogging around my apartment in Pioneer Square with two cruisers following him until he tired out one morning. Not to mention the bicycle chop shop and fent ring outside the apartment.

Credit where it's due, since Bruce Harrell took over as Mayor they've done better to isolate the homeless and clean up the streets. The waterfront in particular is really nice now that construction is wrapping up. Still a problem but better than it used to be.
